Looks pretty good. Do you think TGB could pull off a GTA2-like pseudo-3D effect? IMO, that looks really good, and it would help ease the transition to higher areas such as roofs and flying machines.

GTA2 is in 3D. It's simple 3D, with depth limited mainly to buildings, but it would require a 3D game engine. Which is easy enough to do, but TGB doesn't support it. We might be able to simulate the effect with some sort of parallaxing textures, but it would probably be easier to just make it in 3D instead.

I have no experience with the making of games and such, but I am a writer and artist. I'm not entirely sure if I could properly make pixel art, but I could definitely write some character dialogue and a crazy villain story(it's what I'm best at.)

In the art department, other than pixel art, I could possibly make designs for cars and guns and stuff like that. Like, I dunno, when research for something is complete or some other such thing, it can show some blueprints or artwork of it, and a short description. It wouldn't be so complicated to implement.

I don't even know. I really want to see this happen, and also help with it.

We definetly need a man of your qualifications. Have you registered on the forum yet? Start making up some concepts for the story and discussing them there (the story thread on a forum only has main character idea now).

Also, shameless bump.

This sounds really interesting. I have drawing abilities...but not really the pixel art kind. But if there are robots involved...I am so in. My people (the Czechs) invented the term. And this awesome piece of clockwork [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prague_Astronomical_Clock], which is much older than proper Victoriana. Oh, my head is spinning with ideas!

Yup, i know of Karel Capek. And is this clock totally awesome or what?

Anyway, you may want to keep an eye on that. If you don't want to register in the forum, there's always the usergroup.

First let's build up something we can show to people and say "we made this", and see how much we can do, and how far we can go, on our own. I for one would much prefer to keep this independent, so we can set our own goals and time constraints. I really don't care for some big-name (or small-name, as the case may be) publisher telling us to "get it done in time for Christmas, then get cracking on the sequel/DLC".

I don't know where your drawing skills/preferences lie, but we need any and all kinds of art, since right now we don't have any (except a conceptual cover image, somewhere). Concept art, backgrounds, maps, teasers, anything. (And you just gave me an idea.)

so.. how many people are currently involved in this?
Not nearly enough D: Honestly, I'd say about 4-6 so far. Which is why Kollega posted this recruitment thread.

I've joined up there, and I would absolutely LOVE to take up the torch of writer for you guys. I've got Summer Vacation starting TOMORROW, and also no job, so I have plenty of time to do writing for the next three months. This game definitely needs to happen.

That's what I was hoping would happen when I did that. I'm sneaky like that.

But I will join the forums and figure out how I can be useful.
