Okay, so I've searched this, but didn't want to put it under the "Creepy dreams" thread because this has more intrigued me.
Okay, so I had a nightmare right where basically it was me walking down a canal (similar to one round my area) and all of a sudden "monsters" started attacking and SERIOUSLY mutilating people. I say monsters because they were shit scary and didn't actually look like anything made in a game, film etc that I recognised. So monsters they is.
Anyhoo, they were hunting people down, so I ran down the canal, and ended up in a place that had loads of little white buildings. Anyway, at this point, my nightmare ended, and I woke up.
But here's the weird part
I had a flashback INSIDE a dream. Seriously. It's grabbed my attention.
Basically, in the second dream, me and a load of friends were running through fields being chased by a farmer with a combine harvester with a really scary face. We then reached a barbed wire fence (the place described also looking like something round my area, perhaps there is a link) and there were two paths: More fields or a canal, and when they said "Let's try the canal," in my dream I said "No, I know where that goes and you do NOT want to go down there." At which point it flashed back to the previous nightmare for a bit, before sitcom-style me shaking myself out of it and saying "No, let's go the other way"
The nightmares were about 2 weeks apart, give or take 2 days. I'm asking, is it normal to be having flashbacks like this within dreams? It's happened before too but these are the only one's I vividly remember. It's really got me.
