A Suggestion To Treyarch

Alright, in recent years, the Call of Duty games have become as predictable as the fucking tides, so there will DEFINATLY be another one... Treyarch, for now at least, YOU are the only ones making Call of Duty... Black Ops was a good start... but you didn't INNOVATE enough. This is seriously your last chance. You NEED to get your shit together and actually try and IMPROVE. Look at other sequels, LittleBigPlanet 2 for example. Why does EVERYONE love it? Because it feels like a SEQUEL. They took what made the first game great and ran with it, all while tossing in little bits and bobs and FIXING as many problems with the first one as they could. You can't just keep adding a new story, new maps, and some new weapons. By all means, experiment. Try something new. The time for baby-steps has long since passed. Apparently the next CoD will be in the future... you know what? Fine. If you can make it WORK Treyarch, if you can make it feel NESSICARY... then I am 100% fine with it. Here's what you NEED to:

Change: THE HIT DETECTION: Jesus, just PLEASE fix this! Make it so bullets KILL people in multiplayer.
THE HIT BOXES: Make the blood a separate model from the player. I'm sick of getting injured, spurting blood, ducking behind cover, then dying because someone shot the blood spray.
THE STORY: I know Activision DEMANDS 1 CoD per year, but TRY and unfuck yourselves from the "5-hour-campaign-with-a-meh-to-pretty-good-storyline" rut.
THE SETTING: Enough of this "secret agent" shit. Yes, SOME levels are cool, but entire games don't work as well. What about playing a grunt, a private, in Vietnam? Or WWI? Make us feel like we are a part of something BIGGER than ourselves... that we are a part of the military machine.

Keep: THE GENERAL MULTIPLAYER: This is good. Add a few modes, maybe up the realism TINY bit, but the whole "this is just for fun" feel of the multiplayer works for the most part. If you have to change anything, try and make it less of a twitch shooter and make us THINK. Make us WORK for each and every kill.
THE MULTI-SOLDIER PLAY: I like playing as a few different soldiers during a conflict. Don't cange this, it helps the player see the story from a different perspective (also offers different locations).
THE COD POINTS: I LOVE THIS SYSTEM. BEST CHANGE OF BLACK OPS. The player can focus on what THEY want, not all the little bullshitty parts inbetween. Good move Treyarch.

In closing, INNOVATE. TAKE RISKS. FOCUS ON MAKING A BETTER GAME. Seriously, if it means a BETTER game, we won't mind waiting an extra year or so for each CoD. Take your time and focus on creating a good product. I you continue to neglect this, the fans WILL leave, and the fragheads WILL catch on eventually.

They did INNOVATE. I guess it just WASN'T enough for you to ENJOY it.

And it's a bit of a RISKY act to try and TAKE risks. If PEOPLE hate it, whoops, YOU just lost the COD franchise AROUND $300,000,000 worth in SALES.

Talking in all caps every few words is hard.

Didn't you hear?
IW is making the next CoD.
Hopefully they can have at least half as much consumer support as Treyarch.

I didn't care for the latest COD. Everything is just a rip off of another game now.

I want something fresh from these military sim shooter things.

Maybe a living continent with vehicles and territories (Largeeee ones) that are contested regularly and formed based on a specific sides actions...

I guess I want a COD version of Planet Side.

Oh god. Really?

Here's a summary of what people say....

TREYARCH FIX THIS
TREYARCH FIX THAT
TREYARCH BALANCE THIS
TREYARCH THIS GUN IS IMBALANCED
TREYARCH WAAAAHH I KEEP GETTING KILLED BY ONE GUN SO IT MUST BE OVERPOWERED
TREYARCH WAAAH YOU SUCK FOR NOT SATISFYING EVERY ONE OF OUR COMPLAINTS.

People need to stop beating up on Treyarch. They are doing WAAAY more than Infinity Ward EVER did to support their ga--My bad, IW did NOTHING. Treyarch doesn't deserve to get shit for not satisfying every one of these little complaints at once. Seriously, just stop. If you don't like the game, go back to MW2 and see how you like it.

Treyarch did innovate, a lot, but I guess it wasn't enough for you? Nothing is never enough apparently.

[/rant]

I'm honestly sick of people who do this, just voicing my opinion.

I actually enjoyed Blops quite a bit. It was good, but nothing special. Basically, it's either:
A. take a risk and change some things around, innovate, etc.
or
B. keep doing the same thing over and over with a different backdrop. both sales and critical scores plummet.
and now that I look at it again, yeah, I DID go a bit OVERBOARD with THE empahsis... lol

The thing is, I'm not beating on Treyarch, as I said, I liked Blops and WaW. they just need to do more if they want to make a good game. and the changes I suggested were serious problems that date back to Modern Warfare. Activision has them cranking them out each year, so they have no time to address any of the complaints and try and improve the game. they mak it passable, but its basically same problems, better graphics and new backdrop. fun games, but they can't just keep repeating the same basic formula forever

I'd like some more innovation as well.

Also, Treyarch, for the next game, give the guns some decent sounds. Black Op's guns sound ridiculously weak.

Wait, let me list some new things they brought to Call of Duty the previous didn't have...

-COD Points System
-Emblem Creating System
-Theater Mode
-Contracts
-Wager Matches
-New Modes in general
-Combat Training/Training Dummy Mode

Oh, yeah, doing the same thing over and over, even though they added so many things to the game. No innovation whatsoever. I totally agree.

TREYARCH SERIOUSLY THE ONE THING YOU NEED TO FIX, is your overall demographic people who tend to blame their failures on something they cannot control. Get rid of them and your games ARE perfect. Look people equipment in any cod game isn't over/under powered It comes down to who sees who first. The first to pull the trigger is usually the first to leave in one piece, and if you repeatidily die even after shooting first well then the game isn't for you and no amount of FIX THIS RRRRRAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRR is going to change that. Caps locking, for the underlining impaired :D

Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer are both working on COD...

Anyway, the hit detection is fine. You just have shitty aim. Sorry you didn't like Black Ops. You should make a thread about it so we can all know it.

Treyarch is NOT the ONLY ones making a COD GAME! SledgeHAMMER games is Helping INFINITY Ward make the NEXT COD! And RAVEN Software is helping TOO.

Please don't use caps so much. I didn't have fun reading your post, and I don't think you enjoyed reading mine. Caps: only you can stop them.

A future setting would allow them to fill it full of variety, laser weapons of all kinds, plasma weapons of all kinds, they don't even need to go for the whole super-soldier thing, you could be an average ground trooper who, at some point, actually has to run away from an enemy super-soldier.

judging by your claim that I didn't like Black Ops, it's obvious that you totally read my post. thank you for obviously knowing what you're talking about before flinging insults

these are all great additions. but I don't really consider "theater mode" a huge addition to gameplay. they added in a few extras (emblem creation, COD points, etc) that I quite like, but I mean REAL innovation. not just a few fun online extras.
though I will give you the wager matches. that is more what I'm talking about. a new gameplay mode that expands on a new idea. It's fun to play and works great. excellent. more of this.

Theater mode doesn't really add to gameplay, but it's innovation. Much easier than recording every second of your match in hopes of making an insane kill or something. It makes things easier.
