With the awesome success of Batman: AA , and no doubt fun Spiderman games ,all that is left is a good superman game don't you think ? the only thing I'm trying to figure out is how, since your dealing with a character who has infinite power and can go any where as well work in any envireoment. I personally think it should be open world and a stand alone story with all of superman's powers.

How do you think it should be done and if so at all ?

For every good superhero game, there are a million bad ones. Arkham was the last superhero game that I've heard about that was any good. So no.

It's possible. I mean, they got a good formula there, but like with Batman games, there had to be a whole lot of crap until they made gold. Maybe, just maybe one day they'll make a good Superman game. One day.

could work well in a sandbox type of game i agree, where people get into trouble and need some saving.
Course, there's allways the problem whit opoments offering enough "challange". But it dosent have to be superman vs crimminals all the time it can be vs enviroment also. Perhapps make the powers into small minigames like say for example. Some rubble is falling down from a tall building, then its up to you to make sure the rubble aint hitting anything. And shoot it down whit your lazereye "thing". Also have more than one villan story, perhaps in a gta/saints row2 style, where u have things to do aside from the main storyies and can fly to the nearest mission marker to start one of the villans story. (aslong as there giant robots everywhere in the streets its good) =)

But dunno, been playing saints row 2 alot but would be cool whit that kind of game where your not the villan.

Yeah, so Superman as you said has infinite power and all that. Therefore, no matter WHAT game you made starring superman, it would be boring. You'd never lose health, for one - therefore, you'd never lose. Then, like, what "Press B to kill all enemies". There isn't any power this guy doesn't have! He can fly, he can run fast, he can shoot lasers from his head! What more do you need?!

The thing with batman, and the reason that Arkham Asylum was good, is that batman was human, capable of weakness, not impervious to guns, etc. Superman's too... super to be in a good game.

The problem with Superman is that he's too powerful: that wrecks game-balance. The only thing I can imagine is having many enemies who are just as powerful gang up on you to add to the challenge.

Superman returns had the right idea, his health bar was the cities health, the game was shit but that aspect of his vunerability was bang on.

Superman wouldn't work without some radical and unusual idea. And even then people would go "wtf?"

I could tell I would be disinterested just by watching Superman Returns. Here's the way any fight with Superman goes.

Does the antagonist have kryptonite?
A: No
Superman will blow away any explosions caused by antagonist. Superman will catch any enormous continent-destroying missiles in midair. Superman will save every hostage in the building using super-speed.
A: Yes
Superman will crumple to the ground like paper and give up.

What annoys me most about Superman is that it's the inverse of what makes things interesting. SUPERMAN uses brute force, whereas Lex Luthor has absolutely no superpowers and always uses his mind plus whatever else is at his disposal. You have to give him credit, I mean he's taking on a GOD with dollar bills.

Batman has always been more interesting to me because even though some of his enemies have superpowers he always gets by with wits and gadgets, plus a fair bit of strength. When someone points a gun at him, you don't think "Oh, yeah, whatever, his (spidey reflexes/chest of steel/superfast regeneration) will protect him." You think "Oh snap, what's he gonna do now?"

See, Leggett knows what he's talking about:

the idea of a superman game seems kinda pointless to me. you'd be basically invincible unless all the bad guys had green kryptonite.

A good Superman game has never been made. But considering that a righteous Batman game was just made it possible that they can make a great Superman game can be made. Just skip Lex Luthor as the because he is villain is way over played. Bring on Dark Seid and all the villains capable of actually whipping Superman's ass. That would make it actually challenging.

A Superman game is not a good idea. I have never heard of a good Superman game. Actually Superman 64 is accounted for one of the worse games in history.

Just line everything with cryptonite (how do you spell that anyway?) and have a lot of stealth missions as Clark Kent. "Unlimited Power" problem solved.
