I can't explain why but one of the two teeth in the bottom row of my mouth is breaking apart. It happened randomly, no bump or chomping on it. It just started to break. I have no idea why this has happened but I need a trip to the dentist ASAP.

Let's rewind to when I was ten. I was over at a friends place when a friend of the friend knocked me mid-jump while playing on the trampoline. I break both my bottom two front teeth landing on the edge of the tramp, thus condemning me to weeks of dental appointments. They tried to save what was left of the teeth but in the end they had to rip out the root and put in a fake tooth replacement for both of the front teeth. Because of this I'm not in pain at the moment.

So yay, my first day on the job tomorrow is going to be fun as I have to go with the tooth still hanging on for dear life. I'll try to get to the dentist as soon as I can tomorrow because this just had to happen on a Sunday when it is closed.

So, have you ever had a dental emergency? Dental surgery? I'm really hoping to pass on the whole 3 hour surgery thing again. I don't enjoy oral surgery.

Well I'll be eating on the left side of my mouth for the next little while. Hopefully it doesn't start to hurt.

Well, not exactly a dental emergency, but I was at the Dentist once, and I could have sworn he was singing the dentist song from Little Shop of Horrors to himself.

Although, in all fairness, it have been something to do with the Novocaine.

I recently had oral surgery to have a rogue tooth removed, as well as one of my wisdom teeth. The baby tooth had never come out properly, so the tooth below it was growing in sideways and had to be corrected with braces and surgery.
While I'm no longer a horrible fanged mutant, I really hate these braces.
Also, my parents decided that no matter what, I was going to school the day after my surgery, even with me still on pain meds. I still can't eat yogurt, since that was most of what I ate that entire week.

EditL and since Erja_Perttu mentioned it, I have some weird stories about the painkillers they had me on during the surgery. You know how when you're on laughing gas, the dentist tells stupid jokes to gauge how well it's affecting your system? The guy doing my surgery wouldn't shut up. I know he was doing his job, but I just wanted to tell him to be quiet, but I couldn't. All I could due was laugh.
It was like I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream in there.

I once broke off a bit of my tooth with dental floss. Alright, it was pre-damaged a bit but nevertheless wtf?
Of course this was on a thursday night and you try finding a dentist who's open for business on a friday. I then managed to get a filling half an hour before closing time. Whew.

I have terrible teeth, mainly due to my solid diet of sugar and chocolate, so my teeth are riddled with cavities. I currently have 2 exposed cavities and an area where, last year while eating chinese, I bit into something and cracked a quarter of a molar off. Never bothered to get it fixed. It's fine though, I'm pretty much immune to any mouth based pain by now.

I absolutely hate going to the dentist, mainly because my dentist has the worst waiting times ever. I honestly have an average time in that waiting room of around 2 hours after the supposed time before I'm seen, that's the part that sickens me the most.

Yeah, I've got to say, if it weren't for the incredible cost of doing so, I'd be inclined to just rip my teeth out and have them replaced with something just a bit more resistant to decay and/or breakage. One atrocious trip to the dentist's office to end all others, both figuratively and literally.

I've got cavities on my Bottom Wisdom Teeth and my Top Wisdom Teeth are growing in, causing my teeth to move a little bit inwards. However, I'm gonna get all my Wisdom Teeth removed during the summer, so I shouldn't have any problems any more with teeth.

Also, I had only 1 more cavity, but it was drilled in and plastered years ago. Other then that, I've had awesome dental hygiene.

I sucked my thumb until I was twelve. No braces. Same thing with my sister. Everyone else, who didn't suck their thumbs, all had braces.

From the title of the thread I expected this conversation to be going an entirely different direction.

All I can say is that I ate alot of sweet when I was little so I had to go to the dentist. Back then I was afraid of going to the dentist so much that I freak out and they restrain me and put the sleepy gas on me. When I woke up my teeth was mess up (they drill out the plaques). It took several years for my mouth to grow new teeth to replaces my broken ones.
Also in my teen I had to get braces cos my top left canine tooth was not align properly althought I didn't mind having braces (I never view those who had it to be freaks or nerds).
These days whenever I go to my routine checkup the dentist guy always say my teeth are fine (no need for operation) althought I think the plaque are slow building up.

I was going to read your post, but then you started talking about breaking teeth and I had to stop the nightmare fuel from entering my brain DX

I had to get my wisdom teeth removed, but that's as bad as it's gotten for me. I did it during winter break as a teenager and spent a whole week in the warm, loving embrace of heavy painkillers.

Though I have reccuring dreams of my teeth getting loose and falling out. Seriously, I'll have these almost every two weeks. I don't know WHAT that's about.

And a much more fun direction too...

I did once have stuck baby-tooth that came partially out, but the nerve didn't want to die. The tooth started rotting and oh go that was not fun >.<

I've spent eight years under treatment with a jaw orthopedist. Braces and weird dental plates and such.

Oh, and if one of the two teeth you have in your bottom jaw is breaking apart, I don't think you have to worry about looking worse than usual at work today.

I should really get my teeth checked again, just routine, havent been to the dentist in about a year now.

I had a minor scare not long ago when one of my teeth started hurting whenever I ate sugar. Disappeared again. No idea what thats was about. Thought my year long Cola binge had caught up to me there.
Oh man, oh man. I was about to post mine till I read your post and I had the same symptoms. It came and went then came back with a VENGEANCE! Go to the dentist NOW but chances are your going to have to lose the tooth. the sooner you go the better though but I promise you one thing - it WILL come back! and you really don't want that trust me.

Ow. That sounds painful, dude.
Myself, nothing too bad. It took me a while to lose my baby teeth though. A couple months ago I lost half of one and lost the other half a few months later but that's about it.
