Lolcats are my thing!
Really? I thought they belonged to this guy [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view]

OT: Glad we could help! Not that I did anything, I just enjoy taking credit for other people's work.

The escapist is fun!
Wait, what?

OP: And a very good day to you, sir!

Seriously, I have no clue what that's supposed to mean. Does it imply I use lolcats? Because I don't.
It links to the profile of whoever clicks on it - I thought everyone had seen it by now?

Well, crap. Can someone else do something even dumber so that I seem smart by comparison? There's a cookie in it for you.

Nah, I kid. I may be a grumpy and bitter bastard, but I'm not that grumpy and bitter.

Now go join P.R.I.A.T.E. We are all super-nice there!

[sub]I'm totally not advertising our group! That would be wrooong[/sub]
No, he shall join The Asylum [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Asylum-open-mic]! We may be nuts, and our basement may smell of cheese, but we know how to have fun!

But seriously, it's nice to know that this little community could help out. So, you're welcome. :) *hug* ......*gropes*

Noez! He is eating my cookie! Actually, the cookie monster always freaked me out a little as a kid. I think family guy did it right, portraying him as an addict.

This evening I have been crying for about an hour. I have had an epiphany. I have realised that if I died today, only 3 people would miss me. My parents, and my girlfriend. I have very few friends and the ones I do have I barely see. I have accidentally pushed them away. I can't handle life. I can't handle money. I can't even get a job. And yet, despite all this, I still feel happy. I still feel at home.
All because of this website. It keeps me smiling. I come on the forums and feel part of a community, I watch the videos and grin to myself, I read the news stories and feel normal. I love this website, and everyone on it. I don't know a thing about any of you, and yet you're all the nicest people I've ever met.
So thank you. Thank you so much. I just wanted to share how I felt.
Alright.

Oh, I guess I should say something else. Regarding your life problems, think of it this way, self worth isn't defeined by how many people will miss you when you die. Its defined by how many people's lives were affected by you while you were alive.

You should be happy that your parents are there for your as well as your girlfriend. And you can't handle money? What the hell do you mean? Do you have tiny hands and you can't hold a lot of bills? Or are you prone to impulse purchases, which can be stopped.

And don't worry about the job thing, I've been looking too. It seems that this summer is the hardest to get a job. There are simply too many people applying and we are very unlucky people.

3 fast tips to stop being sad and start being awesome:

1: You're a dude, therefore, you are not sad, you have a primal urge to fuck and/or fight, this causes cleaning liquid to form in your eyes. So, basically, you are not sad, just a real man!

2: you have a girlfriend, that's more than, i'd say 70% of the people on this site has, enjoy it, i mean that. I mean her.

3: Many people have it worse than you. Point at them and laugh!

Hey OP...
I hope this helps,
I felt exactly the same way until a month ago, only my GF is(actually WAS) 6000 miles away...then THAT fell apart and I felt like I was gonna die.
Thought I was doing a good job of hiding it,but my Ma smoked me out and more or less FORCED my out of my shell, now I'm back into the Martial Arts, have met up with friends I'd ignored and thought I'd lost,i've got a bit of strut back in my stride after a few nights out(that was the hardest part, cos ive cancelled/made excuses to not go to almost EVERY night out tihs year) but once I bounced back a little it all added up...
so DONT despair...
I'm delighted the Escapist is a good..ehh? Escape? for you :)
but theres also a whole world that's NOT as harsh as you're thinking right now...GOOD LUCK!

good for you, you are in a shitty situation that will take some effort to resolve and rather than sit there feeling sorry for yourself you saw the bright side :)

its honestly really pleasing to see someone make the effort to not just wallow in self pity. im confident that you will pull through this and feel better soon. seriously mate good effort :-D

p.s. the work thing is something we are all going through at the moment. i've found that night clubs have a high staff turnover (and therefore vacancies) with hours that let you work other times as well, if you can handle them. pays... well mediocre but you can shop around for another 9-5 job at the same time if you need the money.

If you don't like The Beatles, then too bad.

Oh yes, and go join PRIATE, like Hub said.
