I?d like to think most of you could give an honest answer to this ??question??..But I'll give it a shot.

??If you could kill someone that has taken something from you would you???

I?m not just talking about something you left in your fridge that you wanted to eat when you got home but your bloody room mate ate it I?m talking about something along the lines of the film ''the torture'' and ??I spit on your grave??

(I?d put up a link but I?m not sure if it would be safe for work or if certain areas would be able to watch it)

No I wouldn't. I'm not sure if you have heard it but there is an old saying that when embarking on a path of revenge you had best dig two graves. Revenge is pointless and therefore I avoid it when all possible.

If you are truly serious about this question and the opinions of others regarding it (which I severely doubt), then I think this is one of those issues in which one can not even accurately speculate as to one's actions until one is actually in the situation described. It is simple to spout empty platitudes while hiding behind something, be it a podium or a computer screen or even the general, encompassing presence of society, but when powerful, primal emotions are involved these have a tendency to disintegrate rather expediently, and all that remains is an individual's true character, something which most people rarely encounter.

So no, I don't think would kill someone, but I have the same idea as anyone else of what I am capable: absolutely none.

I'd like to think I wouldn't, but who's to know how they'd react in such a situation? Perfectly functional people in society have snapped and murdered due to overwhelming loss. I remember reading a news report of a very successful (and sane) architect whom lost his wife and daughter in an unfortunate aeroplane crash accident. A couple of years later, he travelled from England to Germany and murdered the air traffic controller and injured his wife. I can't remember what happened to him though.

Dammit, narrowly ninja'd.

.... MUST. SEEK. REVENGE.

I like to think that's because someone's gonna try to avenge the guy I killed, so he'll be in that second grave.

Humans have easily killed each other when put in the right circumstance, and I don't doubt I have a circumstance where I'd kill someone.

It's not pointless. It's to satisfy your sadistic 'feel' that you assumably now have towards a certain person. WHo knows whether the satisfaction'll stick. You can't even judge whether it'd be unlikely.
But besides that, it's basically pointless.

OT: Maybe. I don't know;

I don't know. My rational self sitting here knows that revenge is pointless and only leads to death, dissatisfaction or a never-ending cycle of violence. On the other hand I might just be enraged enough to go out to do that, in the unlikely event of that happening.

Well said.
My dad has a saying: Under pressure, the true man comes out.

It's easy for any of us to say things like 'Revenge is bad!' or 'I would kill him and east his face!', but really in the end: You have no idea. I'm a pretty strong pacifist, for example. I complete, because some people only speak the language of violence (If I'm being attacked with no way out, for example), but I generally find violence against others for revenge or anger to be childish (I have my own saying: Even a child understands violence, only an adult understands restraint).

That being said: If anyone were to hurt my wife or family, I'm pretty sure that I'd do whatever I could to hurt or kill them. I'd like to think I wouldn't, but knowing myself as I do, I probably would.

A violent hypothetical is, over all, a pretty ridiculous 'what if' situation, since very few people here (If any) have ever endured something that would even remotely resemble one of these moments that are 'worth killing for' (If there is such a moment).

pfft..maybe i should of said ''what would you do if some DID take that food you were saving for later in the fridge '' ...i have to say i was really pissed off because it was the only thing i had left to eat..T_T

i guess nobody knows what they are capable of until they are put in that situation..anything your doing (even if its wrong..or is it?) seems justified

Baby said it best, its called a shock for a reason when your house burns down because your employer didn't like the work you did last Friday. The world is strange and under the right circumstances each and everyone of us would kill, either for a loved one or for unbridled rage.
