God calculus. i actually get a headache when im in that class. Limits, difference quotients, derivatives, Classic case of "When am i gonna use this in real life?" situation

In my course you have to take three subjects in first year, two in second and then choose, well, I guess it would be your 'major' but we say 'honours'. I think it's an ok system but my third subject in first year was Computing Science and although it initially excited me to do it, it turned out to be something I wasn't very interested in.

Therefore, I wasted time and effort on my other two subjects by having to spend a disproportionate amount of time on CS, and this infuriated me.

Does it count if i graduated already? Computer systems engineer, the subject with wich most of uf struggled the most is Systems programming, wich involves the development of a compiler, is either that or and operative system. That's the only subject i failed (but only because of the awful teacher) but that doesn't mean i hated it.

I'm at the University of Leeds, and I'm studying for a BSc Mathematics, though hoping to do a BSc Mathematics (Ind) . The 'Ind' bit means that it's an industrial degree. I'm currently in my second year. See, Leeds Uni has two programs, called ERASMUS and Year In Industry, which are pretty much addons to your degree. ERASMUS is where you spend your third year studying abroad, usually Europe or the USA, and return to Leeds for your fourth year. For those interested, murdered student Meredith Kercher in Italy was on the ERASMUS program when she died.

The Year In Industry works in much the same way, except instead of studying you do an internship for a year at a major company, and return to Leeds for the fourth year. You can work wherever provided it's all legal, sometimes interns even end up doing their work placement abroad (we had an advert recently from a company in Berlin looking for UK students). Hopefully I'll be able to spend my third year working for a game developer, but if not then anywhere will do (currently also interested in a placement with BA...).

I'm in education with a history major and a minor in social sciences.

They have ridiculous standards for the french language. I'm supposed to do higher than a certain point. I'm kind of bored of this subject. (I'm in a french university).

Im in my second semester of Specialization Actuarial Mathematics. Taking linear algebra, statistics, calculus, financial accounting and ACTUARIAL MATHEMATICS 1.

This last class... how to begin. The amount of notation and conversion is ridiculous. By the 5th week, I'm expected to know ~15 different notations(functions) that does different things. On top of that, the teacher is an asshole, he cannot speak (french accent), and he cannot write clearly on the blackboard. He has no idea what he has taught in class. I just came out of my first midterm. I feel like I've been violated.

Being blasting metallica full volume for the last half hour to blow off some steam.

Same with my Calculus teacher. He is from Eastern Europe, has a really thick accent plus a lisp. Its realllly hard to understand him. And he writes ridiculously small, i cant tell if its a plus, minus, or a fucking picture of a fish

I was in radiology but I realized after a few classes in I'd rather be doing something else. Right now I'm looking into something in Aerospace or Aircraft maintenance. As for things getting on my nerves, my current math teacher enjoys taking more points off for disorganized work than actually getting problems wrong, that seems a little backwards to me...

Nice :D. Good luck, computing is pretty good at leeds. I do an elective in computer programming, the module itself is all done online in your own time with regular drop-in sessions for help and advice. It's a pretty laid back course, from what I can tell, but the teaching material posted on the university website is really good :).

Major is going to be in Computer Information Systems with concentration in Information Security. Most hated subject...Math. And I'm required to take CALCULUS to get my degree...uuggghhh. I like basic algebra and I loved Finite Math (Don't have any idea why) but the rest is crap. All that logarithms, natural logs - I hate that stuff. Currently though I'm not a big fan of statistics...math isn't especially hard but it requires remembering a lot of stupid crap to get a simple result and requires a big process to get a single number.

There must be a special circle of Hell where all you do are logs and derivations. And you can't use a calculator...I can't imagine the math physics majors go through, you gotta be pretty hardcore to want to do that stuff.

Doing history, with a little bit of philosophy as my elective (sort of like a minor, I guess).
Currently loving my second year, as I actually got to pick what I wanted to study, as opposed to the first year where I just got forced into generic early modern European and British stuff.

I prefer more modern stuff, currently studying WW1, the Weimar Republic and Britain during the Thatcher years.

log and e is like the cornerstone of math :) and for calculus classes you can do the final exam without a calculator. The whole point of calculus is to not use calculators.
