A thread to complain about the small issues of the escapist forums.

Hello my fellow escapists, in an effort to preserve the structural integrity of one of my other threads, I have made this thread so those of you that seek to complain about the issues they have with the escapist forums can do so in a designated area.
Any complaints are welcome, but please stay civil and polite.
Please, no personal insults or attacks.
If you have an issue with another escapist, please remain civil.
Other than that, all issues are welcome.
But again, please stay civil.

My complaint: Excessive thread derailing grinds my gears, especially in threads in which the OP asked several times for the derailing to stop.

I hate how people title some threads. examples. "So I just watched/played X" or "X and you" or the opinion as fact titles. I hate them so much. I stick away from them as much as possible.

Misleading thread tittles are certainly annoying

that and the sheer amount of "tell us your 5 favorite x" and "your least favorite y" type threads.

"[insert subject here] that everyone loves, that you hate" threads. Some posts in them have legitimate reasons for disliking whatever they dislike, but the majority just smack of "Ooooh look at me, I don't like this popular game, look at how against the majority I am!"

Oh, and what seems to be creeping up more and more recently. The "I'm leaving!" threads. Don't be so goddamn dramatic for fuck's sake, and just go.

As far as I know, I've got the highest.
As for someone having over 100,000 posts here, you'd have to trawl through everyones profile to find them. Unless Kross added it to his rotation of post counts.

Yeah it was when I first joined up, when people like Furburt and Hubiliub were still posting. And Furburt said that he didn't have the most posts, and there was someone who was in the Forum Games (maybe the RP, or maybe the Pirates vs Ninjas game the Escapist had on here for a little bit), who had over 100,000 posts

OMG... Threads like this make me sick... it is the most disgusting thing in the world, and everybody who writes in them is the human waste of society. Another thing I can't stand are when someone comes up with a topic like 'Why did you choose your avatar?'
Then in the OP ask all about the meanings behind it... why is it special to you? How did you make it? Did you have trouble selecting it? Etc...
And then they tell us about their own, completely ignoring all their own questions... For example 'mine is a spade because I like spades'
I always wonder why they even bothered making the damn thread in the first place! :S

Seeing as the Escapist is so zealously coming down on low content posts, I wouldn't mind a thumbs up/like/thank you button. You know, for when you read a post that says exactly what you were going to, except better? When you have absolutely nothing to add, but still want to express your agreement? You know, those times.

I guess it would be nice if people weren't so angry all the time too.
