The

Fuck?

Your expensive Macbook wouldn't work so your dad went out and bought you a new one??

Nothing tragic here; you have preposterous amounts of money lying around.
The charger, not the Macbook.
if you replaced the charger and it still doesent work then theres a problem with the mac so take it in for service...or buy a PC ^_^
sorry couldn't resist

Well I took it to an Apple store and they sent it away to be fixed since they were busy with other peoples. We didnt say anything about any water, but he said they would call if they found any issue with the warrenty, so il be expecting a call saying my mom has to pay for a replacement piece.

Yay.

My mom spilt water on my Macbook Pro yesterday
I was in the shower and when i got out she told me that very little got on it and that she wiped it up immediatly.
My battery was dead at the time, and now my charger wont charge it. I thought it was a broken charger since the wires were threaded, so i sent my dad out to go buy a new one. When he got home the new one didnt work either.

Since yesterday night Ive had my mbp upside down with the screen uopen with the battery taken out, both in front of a fan.

What am I supposed to do? It wont charge and turn on!
Ive never had anything like this happen before, so im new to what to do :/
Have you tried turning it on while plugged in, with the battery out? Where exactly did she spill the water? Was it on the keyboard? The battery compartment..?

The worst case scenario is that your logic board shorted out and is now toast. Depending on how old your MBP is, it could run you quite a bit of money just for a new board -- upwards of $400-$500 for just the board, more if you pay someone to install it for you.

Hopefully it's just a faulty battery, or it could be the case that the water in there hasn't all evaporated yet. Give it a few more days before you declare it dead.

I also heard that putting in in rice will dry out your computer. I dont know if that works but the rice should absorb the water if there is any left.

Thank god.

Thought this was going to be another thread about Jackson.

I'd recommend waiting at least a day, then seeing if you can get a professional assessment. Most likely, however, you're SOL. Sorry =(

You should probably dispose of it properly and get yourself a real computer. Or take it into the Apple store.

I'll tell you what you do. You get your mom to buy you a new fucking Macbook. She broke it, she can replace it.

As I always suggest in these computer help threads, urinate on it and bash it against a wall. It works every time!

Me too.

As for the OP. it's this simple, at least to me:

If someone breaks my stuff, they replace it.
If I break someones stuff, I replace it.

Take it to an Apple Store to get it "Fixed" (by that I mean they just give you another one and throw yours into the refurbished pile). Chances are the water spilled on it short circuited it and fried something important. Other than that nothing you can really do.

Well, drying takes time. I spilled fanta grape on my laptop keyboard, and now almost everything works again.

I've had this happen to me too: two drops of water were enough to kill it. After reading a whole lot about it and trying a bunch of things here's what worked for me: remove the battery and let your laptop dry upside down, for instance on the edge of a table with your screen hanging down the site (preferably a room where not too many people walk by). Then wait 48 hours and try again. With a bit of luck all your problems are solved.

The most important thing to do now is to stop booting it! Trying to boot your laptop now can only do more harm. Be patient.

If you still have warranty on it, take it to Apple, and they should sort something out.

If not, rip it apart, sell any good quality parts and then use the money to buy a new one.
