A Very, very scary Skyrim bug that is happening to me.

A little while ago I recruited Athis of the companions as my follower.

During a trip to a dungeon, I swung my 2H Sword and accidentally killed him.

Here is whre things start to get a bit weird. First, when I went back to retrieve the items he was carrying, my game froze whenever I tried to.

Fair enough, probably just a minor bug.

I went to get a new follower, but none would come with me. They all said that I already have a follower.I went back to where he'd died, and his body was still there. Still, nobody will come with me. They all say the same thing.

The creepiest thing of all just happened. I walked outside the East Empire Company, and what was on the edge of the docks?

HIS BODY.

HOLY CRAP.

Help me , I'm getting pretty creeped out.

Gods have mercy, you have a vengeful spirit on your hands, and he won't be content until you join him in eternal suffering and despair. I'd hate to be in your shoes.

OT: I had a glitch similar to this happen where corpses showed up to my wedding. Needless to say, the attendees didn't much care for this, and decided to panic. I suppose you could try reverting back to an older save.

If you are on PC you can use a console command to bring him back to life. his ID is 1A6D6

1A6D6.resurrect 1 would be the command The 1 will make him alive where he died and not at a default location. you can probably disable and enable him as well. 1A6D6.disable and then 1A6D6.enable.

If you are on a console I hope you have a previous save.

It will go quicker since you know where to go and what to do. You also might wanna try and space out your saves a little better.

The simpler method, which I used on a certain key character with a stupid name, was to open up the console, click on the body, and simply type resurrect.

I had a creepy thing happen to me in oblivion with dead followers.

I used to tell them to wait at the top of dive rock then nudge them over the edge. after a while i had a fairly good collection of dead followers at the bottom (I was collecting souls).

A whole bunch of hours of playtime passed, probably 10-20, and i went back randomly to find them standing bolt upright in a crucified pose with blank eyes. i then touched one of them with the grab tool and he collapsed in a heap on the floor. creepy.

I left my Dawnstar Sacntuary, and used Stormcall. The 'Your follower leaves your service' thing came up. I was like WTF?

I turn round, and I see a weird sight. Athis is sunk into the snow, and for some reason Farkes is there. So is one of the other guys from the Companions. What the hell?

PS. Athis only has one arm and is sliding about under the snow

I turn round, and I see a weird sight. Athis is sunk into the snow, and for some reason Farkes is there. So is one of the other guys from the Companions. What the hell?

PS. Athis only has one arm and is sliding about under the snow

I am keeping far, FAR away from Athis now, I have it on the PS3, and since I believe it's the buggiest version...yeah. I have to go to sleep soon, thanks .

Yeah I had both Lydia and that Maurice guy from the Gildergreen quest die on me, I'm sorry maurice, but you didnt have to jump off that tower with me...

Anyway, a few gameplay hours later, I enter Whiterun and BAM. The two bodies of Lydia and Maurice are just lying there....scary...

So I put them in the braziers next to the gate

Dude, chill out, do some console-fu with SET PLAYERFOLLOWERCOUNT and don't freak out.

Alternatively, become tormented soul that wanders roads of Skyrim and shouts incoherent words at people.

Dude, that could qualify as a Creepy-Pasta kind of thing. A Lavender Town for 2011 or something! Maybe even a Tails Doll type of situation. Let us know if you're killed by mysterious means. I hope you aren't but it would make for a great urban myth.
