So I was thinking about how much a want a Shonen Jump fighting game with all the characters from the various mangas when I thought about how awesome it would be to have a 2D or Tenkaichi style Warcraft fighting game. Normally, I would rather like a 2D fighting game, but if it was Tenkaichi styled then you could fight the various Dragonflights. Oh, and I was thinking the members of the Bronze Dragonflight would have an hour glass in the bottom corner that, when filled, would allow the character to either reverse time a bit (restoring the health and mana(if its still included) of both characters) or look at what combos the opponent could be using.

Warcraft has a huge list of characters that could easily support a fighting game. If you don't believe me, look at this http://wikibin.org/articles/list-of-warcraft-characters.html. There are even awesome fights from the games that could be moved over. For example, Arthas vs. Uther, Arthas vs. Illidan, Garrosh vs. Thrall, Garrosh vs. Cairne, etc.

I saw some cool pixel art that relates to this on Newgrounds recently.
That would probably not be a bad idea.
I would like to see a warcraft 4 game first though xP

I'd play that. The characters of the Warcraft universe seem like they'd lend themselves well to a 2D fighter.

Also, I think I should point out that your wish for a Shonen Jump fighting game has been granted already, sort of, in the form of Jump Super Stars [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jump_Super_Stars] and Jump Ultimate Stars [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jump_Ultimate_Stars]. Japanese only, unfortunately, but very playable, if you're willing to import or employ other methods.

I already know about that. I want a Budokai style game, dammit. Not whatever that is.

Wasn't there a type of 2D fighter games framework where you could pretty much put any sprites you wanted into them? Like 15 years ago or so? I forgot how it was called, don't have good memory to Japanese names.

But you would have to create all the sprites, rather than just copying them as there are very few that would be useable.

Good call though.
Pretty sure back when it was really popular the community created tons of different characters for it, it wouldn't be that hard to create a Warcraft setting for it. Just matter of finding few dedicated weirdos to do the dirty work, and if internet proved anything it's that there is plenty of such people around.

Super Smash Bros has convinced me that it has the coolest mechanics of a fighting game.

If there was a Warcraft fighting game like that, then SIGN. ME. UP.

I would hate a Warcraft fighting game like that. The WoW combat tends to be stylized for more of a 2D/tenkaichi fighter than a 2D brawler.

Edit: Also, I would like the characters to have really nice details and awesome looking moves. To me, the camera in SSB is too far away for you to really see much of the character's details.
