i have a confession to make, I really love Wii shooters. first person, third person, rail, or whatever the hell sin and punishment is.

why?
because with the wii I can actually point at something and shoot it, rather then trying to convince an uncooperative right stick that my foes aren't massively obese, and that shooting just to the left or right of the target does not help me.

this is my opinion, now what is yours?

That'd be the only reason I'd consider the move for ps3, that and the hope they can make it work for some rts games maybe. I dunno if I can get over the steep price and glowing balls though..

Maybe you should consider PC gaming. it's controls with M&K are very point and kill... and you get the benefit of good graphics and mods...

OT: yeah I hate using the fidgety, unwieldy and sluggish right analog stick to slowly point at an enemy while I side strafe it's rather tedious...

I agree with you!

That and Pro-evo's control scheme.

Both can be intuitive and accurate. I wonder if the PS3 will be better?

I hate Wii shooters, I've played them, and they never work quite right. Even with the wii motion plus they don't feel quite precise enough.
Metroid Prime 3 worked quite well if you tweaked the remote settings, and Conduit was proof that the controls could work even if the game itself sucked.

PS3 should be better but I have my doubts. I'll give it a couple of months to get off it's feet though. Gotta say I'm not a fan of Wii shooters, though I don't own the gun attachment thingy, maybe that helps? (Unwilling to spend 15 quid on one to try though).

I very much agree, call of Duty was my favorite on the wii(although im not badmouthing the x-box version, Im just saying I got a little more immersed when I was pointing and shooting rather then just pressing buttons)
resi:4 was also best on the wii,
and Dead Rising SHOULD have been best on the wii(less otis+no clock=happy fun time) but because there were so few zombies it was kinda saddening(and the poodles were stupid)

Play Ghost Squad. Absolutely amazing light-gun game, ported to the Wii.

I must have lost like 10$ a week in quarters playing that at my local arcade, now I don't have to anymore!

I still play the arcade version sometimes though, mainly for the shits and giggles of using a plastic light-gun that has working sights and recoil that actually feels like real recoil.
