The only portion of the review which I disagreed with was that the game isn't a step forward. If you find it boring thats fine or hate the loot grind, sure. But whether it's

the greater variety in guns
the improved quest system (Albeit flawed but you can atleast choose to ignore quests this time)
the new environments
the new enemy types
or
the new choice in vehicles (Once again still not great but it is an improvement)

the game has added to what people liked about the first in innovative ways and addressed issues. Even a better story (Once again, I am not saying the story is good) with a definable antagonist shows they are atleast responsive to flaws in the past.

Yahtzee, by his own admission, creates reviews for when the dust has settled after a game's release. You've read all the other reviews, you've played the game; a little post-mortem adding his voice to the crowd. No-one should ever be personally offended by a Zero Punctuation, but all of his critiques are valid and should be listened to, especially by devs.

Here's my really big thing about the Borderlands 2 review: Yahtzee is apparently chums with Randy Pitchford (or is it Mikey Neumann? One of those fellas), and yet to my knowledge he has never given a positive review to a Gearbox game. That's strange to me. I'd like to hear his thoughts on Road to Hill 30, or Blue Shift. Hmm.
