I'm a PC gamer, and I really enjoy strategy, RPG and experimental games. I've really been excited by the recent explosion of indie games, especially as supported by Steam. I've also been excited by how KickStarter is taking off as a means of fans funding the games they want, cutting publishers out of the loop and showing that maybe gaming actually doesn't need capitalism after all!
I also own an iPad, and enjoy playing indie/experimental and casual games on it. I see huge potential for iPads (and tablets in general) to take off for gaming on a level beyond 5-minute-session phone games. As we've seen FPSes are difficult to adapt to touch controls, however strategy, RPG and adventure games work really well - sometimes even better than with kb/mouse or controller.
Right now on Kickstarter there is a game that could be one of the first AAA real games for iPad - it's called Republique, it's being made by experienced (real) developers, and it looks awesome!

It's getting a lot of funding, but at present it looks like not enough to reach its target.
Even though it's an interesting game, with demo game footage to show how cool it will be, and is being taken seriously by Apple - it's the first iOS game that Apple have agreed to let the developers award game copies to backers (ie. preorder) - despite all of that, it's getting zero coverage from gaming sites and generally not sparking much interest.
Am I the only one who has a personal interest in or sees potential for real games on tablets? What about you, would you like to play full-blown games on iPad / Android tablet?
