Abe's Oddysee HD Pre-Alpha Footage

The first piece of footage for the HD remake of Abe's Oddysee has been released and by god it looks gorgeous. I've played through the first game at least a dozen times, and the layout shown is exactly the same, only with a new coat of good looking paint.

So people, thoughts on how this looks? Excited, don't care?

Hell yes! Just watching this video made me so damn excited.

Oddworld on PS1 is one of my favorite games ever. I've played both of them dozens of times and although I was very excited to hear about this HD version, I hoped they'd be able to pull it off.

It seems like they are. What really made Oddworld so impressionable were the environments. Seeing RuptureFarms in all this HD goodness is delicious indeed.

Also, I never thought of it before, but it is so damn cool seeing the entire level actually progress forward instead of screen-by-screen.

In a way, I was kinda hoping they'd mix up the layout - But I think that's a symptom of me playing the old games so damn much and wanting new solutions to problems and puzzles (Which there still might be) I think the fact that the game is no longer seperated into individual screens will definitely make a huge difference in this regard.

Awesome I love it. But next Autumn is so far away, but at least that gives me time to buy the other Oddworld games on gog.com to prepare myself.

Looks great so far, not used to seeing this game without transitioning screens. Hope they keep the little songs when you posses a slig, those songs were my favorite part of the game.

I imagine the puzzles and level design will have to change a bit in order to accommodate the camera following the player instead of being static like it used to.

I still can't fucking wait though.

The majority of the original characters were voiced by one of the top people at Oddworld Inhabitants, who I think is still with them.

Stands to reason it's still him voicing them.

What I wanted to say was: "The old voices and spoken lines had a certain charm over them due to the way they were pronounced and what were said. The new one breaks that charm for me."

This looks great especially for pre-alpha and reminds me of the good old days!

So long as they capture the atmosphere of the orginal, which it looks like they have, looks like I will escaping Rupture Farms all over again!

The soft shyness of Abe's voice in Oddysee was gosh darn endearing. I've never been a fan of the derpy voice.

Anyway, new ('n tasty) frikking Abe game; I! Am!! Ecstatic!!!

This looks pretty awesome. But please tell me they aren't using those voices. The originals are much better.
