I always love icky threads in one way or the other - it never ceases to remind me that things are always far more fucked up than we can ever anticipate. And I saw a fair lot of those threads around here, let me tell you. And each of these you could immediately lock under the NSFW rule and permaban most of the posters. The NSFW rule was never really applied all across the board as the rule might suggest and that is how it should be: we don't want this board to become 4chan with numerous threads amounting to "post your current fap-material" - so I do see the reasoning behind hammering down on at least the most egregious offenders.
However, as I already said in a related thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/jump/528.404609.16851772] that shouldn't mean to ban everything: sexuality and everything that is tied to it is part of human nature and there is scarce a point in hammering down on topics which do not outright post the offending material or do so with good reason. The OPs thread was an example of the former which featured scarcely anything more offending than the Dragon's Crown artwork and was elsewise simply one example of a "raising-awareness-of-a-specific-videogame-thread" this board has also an abundance of. I don't see any reason to specifically hammer down on the OPs thread in that regard.
In fact, I think what the Escapist likes to do and what its main selling-point is, is that it tries to cater to a more mature and international audience than usual gaming sites do. It is very strange to see, however, that it undermines this point by such unnecessary application of the americo-centric NSFW rule while it routinely allows for posts by users which can be classified as hatespeech and offends a good deal of people around here. What I'm saying is: the guidelines for the current moderation would benefit a lot from a more pragmatic formulation - especially with regards to a thing so strongly tied to adulthood as sexuality is.
As for the question of an NSFW board: not a good idea. It would split the discussions more and would invite an onset of "post your current fap-material" threads. No, a more relaxed approach in the general boards would be sufficient. For instance, I'd really love some reviews about adult games to appear in the review section. I mean considering how much time I spend with certain games I might even consider writing one

So now we are equating transsexualism with pornography?
To be fair, I think the OP was more thinking along the lines of those two [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autogynephilia#Autogynephilia_and_autoandrophilia] (whose relation to real transsexualism is a topic of research and academic discussion btw) and given that the OP is also a fan of CoC I'm really not surprised that he'd mix that up.
