So, yeah, I liked what I see from the trailers for the new game Killer Instinct.
For that reason just for curiosity I wanted to read from the wikia pages the story of the game [never played the first games.....ever]

Simple question: It is a sequel of the other games or a reboot?

From different clues I get it seems it is a sequel, but this make no sense.
All the previous fighters still get stuck to the past after defeating Gargos?
But then how they will back Cinder if he is already dead by Glacius [the first one]?

Havent heard many story details except that the game will ship without it and then patch it in later with 2 more characters after a few months to make 8 characters (how many people are still playing by then remains to be seen).

From what I can gather it is a continuation of the story but the only reason I think that, is because of how they were explaining Sabrewolfs character so I am not 100% sure that is the case but I believe it is likely to be a continuation rather than a reboot.

We will have to wait and see how they tie the story in. As for Cinder as far as I am aware he hasnt even been announced so maybe he wont return. I wouldnt think it would be to hard to bring him back though most fighters dont worry to much about small details in the story.

I just wanted to see Fulgore, Spinal, Sabrewolf, Riptor and Orchid in the game, at least we have two of those but I cant believe they havent announced Fulgore yet he was the face of KI pretty much, not that it matters really as I cant play the game anyway (not paying stupid money for one game).

Stange for saying that.
A Youtuber confirmed that Spinal and Cinder will comeback.
Plus just now I found some gaming news confirm this:

http://shoryuken.com/2013/06/12/fulgore-spinal-and-cinder-set-to-return-in-killer-instinct-developers-looking-to-include-more-female-characters/

Fulgore, Spinal and Cinder had been confirmed.

Also the developers didn't explain the backstory of Saberwulf only, but Jago as well.
By seeing the Spider lady I believe thy are still in the past.

Btw, another problem I have with the story:
How the heck the whole building of Ultratech teleported in the past?

I don't think they're in the past anymore, otherwise how would they get all those high tech weapons in the past?

as for Cinder, it's true a Cinder died, but they're an alien race so this new Cinder could actually be a relative or someone related to the old Cinder that has come chasing after Glacius seeking revenge.

as for the time travel shenanigans When Orchid first defeated Eyedol all the participants and Ultratech were sent to the past but as to how they got back to the present it would be a mix of both Orchid's and her brother Jago's ending

"Gargos is defeated. The way stands clear for the forces of good to rid the world of Ultratech. Cursing Orchid as he is dying, Gargos reveals that Jago is her brother and they'd both soon be dead. Reaching beyond the grave, Gargos possesses Sabrewulf and attacks. But Jago slays the wolf and the siblings return home to a new life."

"Jago's task is complete he has risen to the heights of which only a grand master can attain. After all the battles, Jago senses Fulgore has survived. Wary of the danger the cyborg presents he knows he must watch his back. The attack is quick to arrive, but the mysterious Orchid comes to Jago's aid once again. Unable to withstand both of them Fulgore is destroyed. Fulgore is dead but the new team of Jago and Orchid must face a familiar enemy. Ultratech is rebuilt. The fight is not yet over..."

so pick and choose from each ending AND, I'm guessing after revealing the truth to Orchid Gargos instead sends Fulgore to kill her brother and she runs to his aid at which point they kill Fulgore and the two of they reverse the time travel returning to the present where they join forces against a familiar enemy aka Ultratech
BTW Fulgore is a robot so Ultratech can create as many of them as they want hence his appearance in KI3

Personally I am expecting a return of all the original KI characters I mean it wasnt exactly a huge number but until I see them being demo`d I am not counting on their inclusion especially if the game dosent sell well as I cant see them continuing to release seasons if not many people buy them.

I follow the news on it but not that intensely as on one hand I am hyped as its KI but on the other its on a next gen console and the Xbox One at that meaning I likely wont be able to play it for at least a year or so if at all, at least we get GG Xrd though on current gen.

I really dont remember much about the story in KI but GZGoten seems to have a better idea and I wouldnt be surprised if they are not far wrong about Cinder and I seem to remember Fulgore going into mass production in his ending in KI one.

I was really surprised that Fulgore was not the first character announced though but maybe he will be in season 2 to sustain interest as hes got to be the most anticipated character by far.

Actually Cinder isn't an alien.
Cinder was at first a simple criminal that make a contract with Ultratech to get free from prison if he become an experiment for them. However as you can see, the experiment went wrong and he beome a living flame.
The only alien in the game is Glacius.

Cinder is not an alien. He's a criminal named Ben Ferris whose body is permanently on fire due to a chemical accident. He died in KI and wasn't back for KI 2, so I don't expect him in the new KI.

Riptor was killed in the first KI by TJ Combo.

Those are rumors published months ago that we now know aren't true. They'll be going out the door with six characters, which we already know are Jago, Sabrewulf, Glacius, Thunder, Sadira and Orchid. There will be two more in future DLCs. So we can't have all three of those, but I'm betting on Fulgore and Spinal. Cinder is dead and wasn't on KI 2 either.

Well I know shit all about the Killer Instinct story as I have already admitted I just liked playing the original KI on SNES (and arcade when I could) way back in the day. Have you got a link to the canon story for the KI franchise? as I have been unable to find one.

I know the original six have been confirmed and at least we get sabrewulf and Orchid but I wouldnt count out dead characters im sure if there is enough demand they will return somehow in some guise maybe even as a new character thats exactly the same as the old character.

Combo died to right...right? ah probably not but I hope he did. Him and Jago were the only two characters I disliked.

Unfortunately there isn't an official site, but you can look at fan sites and GameFAQs.

Yes, I think you are right. They could potentially bring back anyone they wanted. I just think the likelihood of Cinder coming back before Fulgore does is low.

Combo isn't dead. He beat (killed?) Riptor in the first KI.
