Im running 64 bit Vista and am about to upgrade to Win7 home premium and im curious, I have 2 internal hard drives, C drive which has windows installed on it and an E drive with my other stuff like installs and downloads etc. When I upgrade to Win7 will it format the drives? Should i move stuff onto an external drive before I upgrade or will it all/some be preserved?

I wont reformat if i dont have to. I would prefer to keep all my files in tact.

If it is just an upgrade you shouldn't have to reformat, but it doesn't matter as all your files are on a separate drive to your windows drive so you could just format that and your files will be safe, unless you have a partition.

Edit: you'll also want to make sure your music and pictures etc are on the second drive, and another thing, don't forget to copy your save game files somewhere else. i forgot this, lost a huge amount of time in stalker, i was very sad.
