They're pretty much removing everything that make XCOM what it is. Calling some random crap Elerium is about as relevant as me calling a prostitue Jessica Alba and then bragging to everyone how I banged Jessica Alba. Actually, that metaphor applies nicely to the new XCOM in general.

However, if I look past the brand name and pretend I never played the original XCOM games, then the whole thing just looks like reskinned Bioshock. Good luck with that, I suppose. I just wish someone would make a decent XCOM game again. The Afterwhatever series was kinda crap...

Oh noes! Things I liked when I was much younger have changed! The series is sacred, its not like it hasn't been tarnished by appalling fps sequels before!

I also have no wish to update an old, and frankly in modern day games, boring combat system that could leave you looking round the same fucking place for fucking hours to find a single fucking alien so the fucking level can end.

I also don't like how they are trying to make the game fun.

They're not updating the gameplay, believe it or not, not every single fucking game has to be a FPS to be a good game.They're just tagging something entirely different with the x-com name.You might find turn-based strategy boring, and that's your right, but some people don't.

And you're honestly going to tell me you didn't see the river of tears flowing when people learned that FO3 was not going to be TBS? Sure some people ended up liking it, some people did not, but you had to see the tons of complaints ?


Edit: and another thing, i can't believe that including one element from the games that made the claim to fame for the series suddenly transform a travesty into a legit inclusion.

What next ? Tiberium soccer balls would make Command & Conquer Wii Soccer a legit C&C ? yeah right...
