What was your first car, and how much was it worth?

Anything Special about it?
Any strange/weird/wonderful memories of it?
Did you get it off someone you know or an Auction place.

I think this is releveant to me since soon I hope to be driving my own car.

My first car was a 1989 Tan Ford Taurus. It was my grandmother who gave it to my sister, who inevitably beat the hell out of it. After she raised enough money for a better car, it was given to me.

It was great, it didn't have bucket seats, so it was like a big couch in the front, classy. I put a bunch of stickers on it, then it blew up. It blew a head gasket and basically looked like I had the ability to use a smoke screen to blind the person behind me. That was pretty cool. I eventually sold it and bought me a brand spanking new one.

My first car was/is my '87 Buick Grand National. I bought it off of an individual (found him through Autotrader) in Phoenix who was moving to Las Vegas and couldn't easily take the car with him. He sold it for $7,500. There's a lot of things that make it special... it's a rarer car, it appreciates in value over time, and it has a unique history behind it. I have many good (and bad) memories in that car, and seeing as it will go with me to the grave, will have many more. My fondest memory of my GN is driving it cross-country to Oklahoma for a gaming community get-together and OFASTS. Sixteen hours each way, non-stop, driving solo. It was absolutely worth it.

I got a nice red car a few weeks ago. My dad and I are going to put iron crosses on the sides and call it the Red Baron.

oooh, lets see... My first was a 1968 Ford Falcon Futura Sports Coupe, candy apple red, hard top was white.. thing was powerful as hell, and was the first car I learned how to basically gut and do everything on my own for it.

I held onto that for a long time, kept it in show room like condition.. though eventually I sold it to a collector.

My first car was a black 1989 Mazda MX-6 GT.

I loved this car. I bought it from a neighbor for $2000. It was pretty impressive for a '89.
It had a 2.2L turbocharged engine, manual transmission, 3-way electonic adjustable suspension, power sunroof, power windows, CD player and even a little button on the dash that made the vents oscillate. I had it for about 2 years until, alas, on my first night home from college for the summer, I was parked at a friend's house and a drunk driver smashed into it. I had to send it off to the junkyard.

*high fives*

I definitely know what you mean about the quirks.

Price = £1200 at the time, probably worth about £600 now.

A Vauxhall Nova SRI, 1.6 16v. in a lovely shade of rust. cost 150 pounds. It was indestructable, untill someone stole it and torched it.
