I'm just glad that atleast one person mentioned Once Upon A Time in America. Don't people like it or is it just that they haven't seen it?
I tried watching it last year. The tedium set in after an hour and twenty minutes, with still almost three hours to go. It's the longest movie that I have. I need to be very well mentally prepared to watch something like that.
I was mentally prepared to see the Godfather Epic and that is seven hours long.
The only one I love is the original, which is self-contained. I intend to rewatch II eventually, but it seemed kind of pointless. Coppola regrets making sequels.

I did watch the extended Lord of the Rings over three successive nights, which is over 11 hours. I don't remember being bored.
Godfather Part 2 is the greatest Sequel to a movie ever made.

And it was the first Sequel movie to win the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Coppola can say all he wants but no one cannot deny the mastery that was Godfather Part 2.

Part 3 he can regret all he wants, mostly because of how the movie was originally invisoned by him.

Oh, it's most definitely a marathon-like performance to watch it. It's also one of the few crime movies, where I felt sympathy for the main characters. In other movies the characters felt like idiots and I couldn't care less what happened to them. Maybe starting from their childhood in OUATIA helped in that regard.

One film not mentioned in that very comprehensive list is 'Road to Perdition' one of my favourite films of all time. A very dark and brutal story with an uncharacteristic performance by Tom Hanks as a Mafia hitman.
'Road to Perdition' and 'Miller's Crossing' always jump out to me as the 2 that get forgotten.
