I found a shiny Chancey once, but the OMFG moment comes from when I failed to catch it. Sad times.
But just a while ago, I caught Kyurem in Black version. In five turns. On my first ball thrown (it was a Dusk Ball). Thing was, I wasn't even looking for him--I was training a Vullaby and looking for Dittos, and I triggered Kyurem's event on accident.
EDIT: I also found a shiny Magcargo in the GTS a while ago, too. So what did the person want for this purple-skinned purple-fire 'mon? A relatively common Druddigon. Shiny Magcargo is pretty, especially now that it's sitting in my box. =D
