Just looking over my various websites and accounts and updating a few of them (making sure stuff i want/need to read go to gmail, spam to yahoo.) and it kid of struck me how wildly different my accounts can be. Depending on when they were made, how much info they wanted about me and how much i trusted the website i have accounts that are almost all different. also interesting how my passwords work.

so just asking how different are your accounts? same info on each or wildly different and increasingly false data everywhere?

Note; do not give out passwords and usernames, also don't post what websites. however feel free to discuss internet security issues and some of the worst offenders for handing out emails for spam.

The only thing I can think of is lying about my age on accounts before I turned 18.

Whenever I forgot a password and it asked me my age to recover it, there was always the panic of trying to remember what fake birthday I used.

I generally only provide truthful information when I absolutely must, and I have a junk email addy that goes to any websites I find questionable. Frankly, the rest of you don't need to know jack about me aside from my actions and statements here, and the same goes for this website's administrators.

Seriously, in an age where a little paranoia about personal data is a healthy attitude to take for a variety of reasons, everyone seems determined to throw their information to the winds.

Before this year, I've only had one main username that I've used and it was this one. Although lately I've been using CVVF, it's surprising how a simple combination of four letters still hasn't been claimed on even the most popular sites!

For anything gaming related I tend to use the same handful of different names out of laziness. I imagine it wouldn't be particularly hard to figure out what games and websites I visit if someone looked hard enough. As for the details of the account I tend to use only the most sparse information I can get away with.

I tend to use my personal email for, well, personal things, like Facebook or something. As for any other sites, I have a Gmail for sites I frequent a lot (and want to receive updates from) and I have a spam email I use for other sites that ask me to sign up (but I'm obviously not going to be visiting very often).

As far as information I give out, I just stick with a month and day birth date and give usually give out a false last name. I don't mind revealing my first name, since most of the time no one refers to me by it anyway.
