I've been to court, and payed a ridiculous fine (the game + 'damage issues', which is apparently 3 times the original value of the game).

Are you SERIOUSLY trying to say that distributing FREE software between lan'd PCs is an offence?! And that you paid four times the value of the initial online account license merely because you copied aforementioned FREE software?

I call bull... Otherwise you should have words with your lawyer

As it is illegal to copy a game, even if you own it.
Except if you make a copy of your own game for yourself, in case you loose it.

It's so illegal that Blizzard has printed on the friend card things that come with the game that you can lend your copy to your friends so that they can install the game and then they use the limited time card thing so your friend can try out the game.

If mods suspend you or ban you for posting about copying the WoW files, that's quite silly. I'm sure if you talked to a Blizzard representitive about this, they wouldn't care either. You don't actually need the discs to play WoW, just the keys to enable the game on your account.

People who bought Spore had the same issue with trying to install the game, so, they must be breaking the law! Bastards, that will teach them to buy games. MMORPG's like WoW are quite different to other software, as WoW requires a pay-to-play basis, so you can't pirate the game unless you use private servers. Though, now that I hear you got into trouble for copying WoW files, seems a bit stupid as to why they would care.

Also, OP, have you just tried googling the problem? That works most of the time. Or how exactly are you trying to copy the files?

Guys, its WoW, I can download it free from blizzard if I want. I have a subscription active. I have the discs. But I want it on my netbook, and id like to have it today. Now, I dont have a disc drive on my netbook so thats out of the question and im lanning so id prefer to play it while im lanning.

Wait..... can't you just redownload the trial from Blizzard then use the key you apparently already have to activate it on your netbook?
Why the hell are you using your netbook to game anyways?
