did you get the Avatar game just for the easy 1000??
I think they should patch Live so that the Avatar game gives you -1000 points. (For a start it's a terrible game and an insult to the franchise /grump)
I agree, it is an insult to one of my favorite series ever. I buy crappy Naruto and DragonballZ games every now and then, but I couldn't lower myself ta getting the Avatar game! I do think it's funny people will get games just ta get achievement points tho!
See with me and achivement games i either try to lend them OR buy them cheap or if ive played them before e.g king kong.

I have 1000/1000 on Assassin's Creed 2 and The Saboteur
1000/1250 on Oblivion(need to get Shivering Isles)
I have over 1000 on Fable 2,Fallout 3 and Gears of War 2 but that's due to DLC

Tbh while I enjoy unlocking achievements I'm not obsessed with them either.I reckon on most games I'll average around 50% - 75%

I'm not an achievement-type person. Granted, I've only got this Xbox (the previous one RROD'd) for two months, and I've only recently hooked it up to Live (never had an online Xbox account before that), but even then my score of 850G is probably pretty pathetic.

Some time ago, a collegue led me on by telling me that you could buy goodies with those points, like Sam & Max episodes and things like that. Were that true, I would be a complete and totale achievement-whore. I'm fairly sure it would also quickly develop into an unhealthy addiction.

that was true when xbox live first started, then they changed it when they realised they could make even more money by putting in there own currency.

brutal lgend 960/1090

Broke 50K gamerscore yesterday :D

Got 100% in:
Bayonetta
DJ Hero (GODDAMN getting 5* in Beats and Pieces was hard)
Banjo Kazooie
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts (Proof that Rare is still on top form, with a PERFECT achievement list)
Modern Warfare (Mile High Club? Pah! No Fighting in The War Room wants a word)
Modern Warfare 2
Sega Megadrive Ultimate Collection (Curse you, Robotnik!)
Bioshock
Arkadian Warriors
Dash of Destruction (Hey, it was free)
Lego Indiana Jones (A good game, honestly)
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo High Definition Remix
Hitman: Blood Money
Civilization Revolution
Alone In The Dark
Shadow Complex
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Bully: Scholarship Edition
Monkey Island: Special Edition
Assassins Creed 2
Boom Boom Rocket
Pac Man: Championship Edition (This almost gave me a heart attack :D)
Just Cause

Got 1000+ in:
Oblivion
Gears of War 2
Left 4 Dead (Got Nothing Special, as far as i'm concerned it's complete)
Borderlands
World At War
Fallout 3
Tomb Raider: Underworld

I think it's fair to say i'm a bit of a whore, but i'm proud to have quite a few of the 'big ones' under my belt (7 Day Survivor, Mile High Club, Through the Fire and Flames expert etc.), and not an 'Avatar' in sight.

Currently working on Velvet Assassin and Dead Rising, and i've got quite a few grind achievements to get in games like Mirrors Edge and Soul Calibur 4 that could easily net me the 1000.

I like achievements. It gives a kind of purpose to obsessive completion of games. I know gamerscore is worthless, but at least now you have something to show for all those hours
wasted. Only I know that I 100%'ed all those old Final Fantasy games, just as an example. :/

Anyway, Retail 100%:
Oblivion, Fallout 3, Assassin's Creed, Spider-man Web Of Shadows (just NOT a good game, at all),
Resident Evil 5 - minus the DLC.

Arcade:
Portal: Still Alive, Monkey Island SE

I'm SO close to 100% on too many games, highlights being, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Borderlands (need the DLC first...), the Orange Box, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Lost Odyssey, Prince of Persia, and Soulcalibur.
I'm getting there, anyway..

I try my best to get as many as possible. Although, I would like to see Microsoft do something with Gamerscore. Like a small amount of Microsoft points for every x number of gamerscore.

Like 30 points for every 1000 gamerscore. Only then, I would truely love Achievements.

I am huge into achievements, but not just for points, although it started that way.

1.) It sometimes will make me do things in games I normally wouldn't do(like replay on a harder difficuly, bad thing). But I like it sometimes because it will also give me more excuses to keep playing a game I enjoyed.

2.) Somewhat related to the first one, but I also will now play games that I never would have touched before, which has lead to me finding some great games. Normally I would only still to genres I knew, but achievements have got me playing everything.
