Okay, I admit, I'm curious.
What the fuck is "MW 2?"
I can't think of any game that alluring with those initials.

Anyway, meh. As I've said before, if they raise their prices...
Well, I won't be too bothered - I don't think I buy any of their games anyway, though it's not intentional.
Mechwarrior 2. It is an Activision title but I'm not sure why it is causing so much of a brouhaha so long after it was released.
Well observed.

OT, Im getting the hardned edition anyway, so the price hike is less worrysome for me. And who knows, if the backlash is strong enough, mabey it might not happen. I cant see valve pulling a bum move like this.

For a game that gives months of fun and some of the best looking and playing engines on the market, and runs at a smooth 60 frames per second without a hitch...

I'll drop an extra fiver.

Launch day for me.

And hey, I'll have learned the maps before the boycotters woohoo!

You know, Activision is just a game company. There is nothing wrong with wanting more money. I didn't actually want MW2, or any of the games made by ActivisionBlizzard, except for Starcraft 2, so this isn't a big deal for me.
DS games are cheap.

oh lawd 5 pounds extra for a fifth sequel in a video game franchise. I think that their focus is incorrect in that statement.

A console FPS, no less!

I saw the video, and it kind of made sense to me when he said all this would do (in the long run) is increase the desire to buy games used (from Gamestop, etc. etc.)

I propose we raid Activision, and rename it 'Escapist Studios'.

We would dominate the market.
I would support this all the way. I have already been put off buying the prestige edition due to the price hike on that, and the way this is going now we need to stop this before it ggoes too far.

It's only Activision so far, no need to go to red alert just yet.
Thats what they said when the first "Limited Edition" of a game was announced. Look at the industry now. Things like this are testing samples to see how the consumer responds. Trust me if and when they see games priced 10 bucks more sell at relatively the same rate we'll see all games raised by said 10 bucks.

Is it really a big deal? meh, not really. But things like this lead to trends in the business, companies gotta make money after all.

Oh god that bloke is a boring tool. Seriously he makes me want to buy more Activision games just to pee him off (and I'm still pissed off that they released Spidey - Web of Shadows twice and just called it Prototype the second time). Does anyone really care if he is boycotting Activision? Wish he'd boycott posting videos online and seriously he needs to get some sort of vocal coach (and maybe get out more and talk to some real live girls).

Bottom line - if you can't afford it, do what I do, wait till it's cheaper. If it's any good it will be worth it and if it's not then you have plenty of reviews to tell you it sucks balls and you've saved yourself 40 - 50 - 60 quid.

There is supposedly a petition up somewhere on the net, but I've been unable to locate it.
Online petitions are bullshit. Have they ever done any good? They're a waste of bandwidth.

man the gaming industry is short lived thus far compared to other industries and it already looks like this could be the start of its own self destruction.

I propose myself as "Lord High Chief Governor of The Endless Money Vaults"
I shall run the operation from my base, on the moon, which I had terraformed to be like Australia...except without spiders.

Petitions are never bullshit it's the same concept as every vote matters if enough people care something will happen
