just think, that million dollars could've gone towards dedicated servers. Good job activision. A few guys who fought in Iraq like you now. Your fanbase however, still thinks you're a dick.
I know it's hard to imagine, but there actually is a world outside of videogames...I know...I'll give you a minute to let this sink in...

I look at the violence in the games & think, A lot of people Played this for real, and are waiting for the respawn that will never come, Well played, Well played.

And i think this is the least activision can do.

*salutes*

Did Bobby Kotick die? How else would they be able to pry a million bucks (or even 1¢) out of his hand otherwise?

i really do have to disagree there. charity for the sake of charity is a good thing, but charity for your own sake, instead of just the sake of giving to charity, is not. when you do this your trying to appear like your giving of yourself for the well being of others, but giving for your own sake is just selfish. your not actually thinking or even caring about those who will benefit from your donation.
Uh, oh noes?
I'm sure the people getting the money don't give a fuck if Activision's INTENTIONS ARE PURE or whatever.

They're still laying down a million dollars for charity, and if you think anyone does anything for completely selfless reasons, you're a fool.

Anyway, good stuff.
Still don't care about the game, but good stuff.
and if you think anyone DOESENT do things for completely self-less reasons then your a pessimistic asshole (the latter of those is painfully obvious from the derogatory tone of your post). do cops and people in the military risk their lives every day for the shit pay they make? do people become volunteer firefighters for their health or for fame and fortune? do people volunteer their time at homeless shelters or building low cost housing so they can get on tv?

the awnser is no, they dont. some people have dubious intentions, and those who do, crooked cops particularly, fit into the same category as activision doing this. but these people i listed do things because it makes them feel good to help others yes, but they do it because these people are needed to do these things and they genuinely want to help others out. they arent doing it to counter all the bad publicity they have been getting, they dont broadcast it out to the whole world. they go out and do these things because they like helping others, and those who GIVE TO CHARITY FOR THE SAKE OF GIVING TO CHARITY AND HELPING OTHERS DONT GO TOUTING THAT THEY'VE DONE SO!

yes, those who need it now have it, and thats the good thing, but the entire sentiment from activision about this ISNT good, deceptive, shows indifference and is, in my opinion, no different than lying.

Good for Activision.

Charity is charity even if its for publicity.

in my opinion its one of the biggest ways to show your own hypocrisy, and thats all this is, activision giving to, or in this case creating, a charitable organization only so that they can appear like they care, but the sad truth is that its just the opposite, this is giving so that you can get something in return, in this case good publicity to cover up all the bad publicity they have been getting lately, and well deserved bad publicity if i might add. thats not called charity, its called being deceptive.
BLAH BLAH BLAH

The end result (that the money will go towards soldiers that need it) is all that really matters regardless of the reason.

What has this to do with this companies ability to make good games? Nothing.
So this is a move that I disregard completely when it comes to dealing with Activision.
Which I won't, because they have turned out to suck hard.

Not sure why they did this either. If they did it because they "felt it was right" then they are idiots. If they did for pure selfish reasons, then kudos to them. But they still suck.
