I think i would prefer EgoRaptors Pawn Hero idea than a guitar hero reboot... unless they do it REALLY well.

Also Robert, If people "didn't want to unleash there inner DJ" THEN WHY THE HELL did you release DLC and make a freaking sequel to the game with even more DLC??? Your the Head hancho if you thought DJ HEro wasn't doing well then why did you make DJ hero, and manage you team to improve on the guitar hero franchise, i guess your were so busy reaping the easy benefits of guitar hero five with you only adding a new song list and a couple of new characters! /rant sweet cheezus

Yeah, I wasn't really aware it was "dead"...I mean, what are they on, Guitar Hero 5 with 500 extra songs and/or DLC?

Well that didnt last long.

Its like saying CoD is dead then releasing a yearly sequal.
Took the words right out of my mouth.

But wow, way to give fans the time to come to miss the series before bringing it back. It really shows you how little faith Activision must have in their games that aren't Call of Duty.

Guitar Hero was milked dry a long time ago anyway, I don't see the point of this.

How can you reboot guitar hero? Change the fret buttons? Change the note board horizontaly? Wish they accepted MTV/Harmonix won the war with the first Rock Band and left it there... would have saved me buying that crap GHWorld Tour drum kit with the cymbols that refused to acknowledge every herculean thwack I gave them.

That was it? Only a few months and they're bringing it back? If anyone, ANYONE were to look at the next Guitar Hero, it wouldn't look like they dropped the franchise for a short amount of time, it would look like they didn't change anything because the games are released so often.

Well best of luck to them. Hopefully they can work something out.

However personally I cannot be compelled to be interested because as a musician, I have no interest in dumbing down playing music.

So Until GH or RB incorp features such as found in

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocksmith'

As in using an actual guitar and actually learning the songs, I really dont see how any sort of reboot will be beneficial to the series.

There's nothing like watching a proffesional milk producer go to work on his cows, even after they're dead...

Sweet, more games I can wait three years to buy used for $10. Least it adds to my huge library of songs for music games. Although personally, I'd much, MUCH rather see Rock Band rebooted. They had WAY better DLC for it.
Rock Band definitely deserves the spotlight over Guitar Hero, far more DLC and better quality.

The beautiful thing about it though, is that Rock Band is still going strong. They innovate when a new major title is out, and are still updating DLC every week. Hell, a six pack for Soundgarden just came out this week. Between that and RBN, they've got nearly 3,000 songs in their library.

No need to reboot what isn't broken. :p

Activision needs to learn what putting something on hold means though. Not announce it and then reveal four months later you changed your mind.

Fuck that. Release more DJ Hero content and I'll actually give a damn.
The problem is, guitar hero generally has more music that appeals to a larger crowd.

I'm just saying, mixing 50 Cent with David Bowie? Fuck that, it's ruining some of the best music ever to be made.

well i guess it depends by what they mean revamping. i currently have legends of rock (or whatever its called, all i know is that it has bat country so im happy) and i think its pretty good. It would be nice if they focused more on songs people knew instead of these alternative indie stuff where out of the 50 they put on there's maybe one good one. If they were to keep it focused to one particular band, i think its high time Avenged Sevenfold was given there own game

I grew tired of Guitar Hero games years ago. They're a thing of the past. I don't care if you make a new one that's better than all the other ones combined, I will not buy another Guitar Hero (or Rock Band) game.

YES! Awesome, as long as they just go back to 5 frets and 30 songs, I'm golden. That's all I need, Activision. Don't fail to please!

And good for Guitar Hero. At this point in my gaming life (or whatever), I couldn't care less. DJ Hero was one of the few titles that actually had something to do with hip-hop culture and not be riddled with stereotypes, so you'd best believe that I'm a little up in arms about this and reading that article that said it was DJ Hero's fault Guitar Hero finally crashed and burned (like everyone fucking called).

Aside: Hmm... I guess I finally understand what some PC players are talking about.

Back on track, another thing, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I was always under the assumption that if someone didn't like a certain song or type of music altogether, they would, you know... not listen to it. Don't like the 50 Cent/David Bowie mix (which did suck, I'll admit)? Okay, that's fine. No harm, no foul. And then you move on. Proceed to greener pastures and forget everything prior ever happened, or however you prefer to keep forward.

Just like here. I'm gonna move on and quietly hope that DJ Hero, if nothing else, gets a few more expansions.

Yeah, except it wasn't just the 50 Cent/Bowie mashup. It was all of DJ Hero.

It was all either bad music mixed with good music (ruining the good music), bad music mixed with bad music (and in this case, negative*negative =/= positive), or Daft Punk (a band I actually quite love).

Still, DJ Hero couldn't have appealed to a mainstream, and it was never going to, because no matter how much you sugarcoat it, it just wasn't that good.

You say it wasn't that good, and it also shows me how ignorant you are to hip-hop culture. I gleefully say otherwise. I'm pretty sure nobody forced you to play the game and if in the the off-chance they did, you my sincere condolences.

So here's an idea so we don't dilute the topic with a petty and needless mudslinging session: you go the hell on about your business, and I'll go the hell on about mine. That works for you?
