Getting M1 thumb. That's when your'e cleaning an M1 Garand and a thumb or finger gets caught in the firing mechanism when it slips. From what I've heard it's pain you'll never forget.
My uncle offered to let me clean the firing mechanism once on his Garand, but once I learned about that there was no way I'd ever attempt it.

I agree with the complete lack of desire to sky dive. Jumping out of an airplane? Hell no.

Bungee-jumping, on the hand, has some appeal. Not sure why I see that as slightly less terrifying, but I do.

i don't know why, but this kind of stuff really irks me, and the idea of trying this ritual sounds extremely scary.

So, fellow Escapists, what activities have YOU heard of that you don't want to ever try

Scary, and something I don't believe to be possible. Er, or at the very least, I'd be extremely skeptical of it.

A few that come to mind: sports, alcoholic drinks I haven't tried before (which is most), cosplay, and fighting.

You've probably never played Country Golf then... All you need is a driver, a 5 iron, a putter, some golf balls and an esky full of alcohol. The rest you make up as you go along.

Clubbing. Nothing against it, honestly, I just enthusiastically don't want to go to any club. I wouldn't have any idea what to do once I get in, IF I get in. What if I have to dress a little douchey to get in? I don't have any douchey clothes at all.

Most EXTREME sports. I used to skateboard, but that was the extent of that. Skydiving, bungie jumping, etc have no appeal. This is partially due to fear of heights, and partially due to my inability to see jack shit without my glasses.

ETA: I also have no desire to peg, although I think I would do it if someone I cared for asked - but I'd be inclined to use barrier protection.
