That's a little like comparing apples to oranges, TBH. It is incredibly difficult for some actors to act while sitting in a chair, because it's removing an important avenue to get in character. Couple that with the fact that they often *are* just reading the lines with little rehearsal time, and its no wonder they have trouble voice acting.

And I second Tom Cruise. He really just plays himself most of the time. Will Smith kind of does too, but his acting is alright.

EDIT: Ohh, Nick Cage. Hadn't thought of him. He's a perfect example.

Gonna catch shit for this, but John Wayne. He doesn't act, he just played John Wayne in everything. Not saying it wasn't great, but he was still John Wayne in everything. This applies to Clint Eastwood to a lesser extent, and I fucking love Clint Eastwood.
No I agree with you on this. That's because Wayne wasn't really an actor. Sure he appeared in tonnes of movies, some of which are considered classics, but he was never an actor.

Eastwood on the other hand was an actor who has one character down so well no one can do it better. Plus Eastwood can direct, and direct well, which shows he has vision.

OT: Robert Patterson. Everyone who appears in a Hollywood movie has to be able to act to a certain degree, they wouldn't be hired if they couldn't, but Robbert Patterson just seems so lazy when he's on screen. He's two dimentional and every time I've seen him in a movie he says his lines in the same monotone voice with the same pout on his face. So he can act, he's just boring when he does.
