Colin Firth. In my eyes nobody can touch him. He was downright spectacular in Kingsman: The secret service. That fight in the church and the bar fight were amazing.

Oscar Isaac is my new favorite guy. Really, it seems like everything he's attached to turns out really well. He hasn't had time to put out a bunch of crap yet (we'll see about X Men Apocalypse and Star Wars). I loved him in Inside Llewyn Davis, A Most Violent Year, and Ex-Machina. He recently did a great miniseries on HBO called Show Me a Hero that no one seems to care about. He feels like a transplant right out of the 1970s era of filmmaking. He's like a chameleon that just fits naturally in the roles he's had.

Leonardo DiCaprio is the one actor that I absolutely adore. I just can't believe that he didn't win an Oscar yet.

Patrick Stewart for being a Star Trek captain AND a really cool gay guy in "Jeffrey" (and much more).

Mads Mikkelsen for making "Hannibal" (one of) my favorite TV-Show and for "The Hunt".

Glen Close for being so many things but for example the most evil person ever in "Dangerous Liaisons".

Uma Thurman for making me having the hots for a woman for once and for being in Gattaca, Kill Bill etc.

Juliane Moore for nearly everything she filmed.

I could go on...

Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender first and foremost. Both practically household names at this point, but consistently put out varying and offbeat work. If Fassbender hasn't won you over yet, check out Frank, in which he'll blow whatever preconceptions you may have about him out of the water. His performance in it is simply incredible, and 99% of the film you don't even see his face! The film being funny in a way reminiscient of the Coen brothers doesn't hurt either.

Hardy has Locke, wherein he alone must carry an entire film doing nothing but sitting in a car alone and talking on a phone, and he pulls it off with flying colours. I haven't seen Legend, where he plays a dual role as identical twins yet, but I've heard good things about his performance in it.

James Macavoy as well, though from me this comes mostly from Filth. His performance in it simply rocks.

Sir Ian Mckellan may be the greatest living actor. The guys brilliant, he never disappoints.

You really get a realization of how much energy he pours into a role, and how he thinks about it from every angle. Genius.

Filth was a great performance! Definately agree there. I have Locke on DVD and usually only wait to watch films with other people, but seeing you put it here made me go ahead and find a friend to watch it with. Brilliant...for an actor to pull off a whole film alone lile he did there, it is a rare talent. So many subtle, lightening fast micro-emotions portrayed that you can read like an open book. Frank and Legend have yet to be seen.
