When you steal a game you enjoy it for a few days finish the last level then get on with your life, Whole the poor company struggles to get income for new projects, Now how could this be the same as ad blocking you may ask well i am sad to say this but ad blocking is more damaging to websites then piracy is too game company

Lets talk about the key facts of ad blocking and game piracy
The damage done to websites when you ignore the ads and god forbid that you block them, is massive compered to the damage done when you steal a game, You may say that a game is 60-80$, Well I answer you, When you steal games you dont take anything from the developers other then a possible sale.

while on the other hand when you go to youtube or the escapist and block ads you steal bandwidth and you steal the overall video or web page. People reported over 729million in lost potential ad clicks 729 thats almost a blilion,

Many websites have taken steps too protect there websites from theives that are looking for a free lunch, some websites have blocked adblock pro and do not allow the users from connecting to the website.

Now i know that alot of people block ads because they get annoying but think about it, What is free in life nothing we must all pay a cost for the freedoms that we have, there is no hope for those that want something for nothing.

We as people are always inside the box about our thinking, we say that pirecy is wrong but dont care about the needs of websites we try to get something for nothing but that is Communism, right now there are tons of websites that need help from greedy ad blockers and its our job to stop them.

The next time you see a person ad blocking tell them that when they ad block they are no better then dirty pirates, tell them they are no better then thieves, one day we can stop all ad blockers from stealing from the struggling website hosts that have no other way of getting money.

This has been a psychological experiment

Wow. That's another thing I fail to care about. Don't get me wrong, running a website isn't easy, but ads are annoying, while paying for games and movies aren't. Your huge block of text don't contain anything that convinced me, in fact I think it's had the opposite effect.

But still, good try.

This thread makes me laugh...
Not out loud, and not really laugh...more like a smirk and the roll of the eyes.

I wouldn't use Adblock/NoScript if it wasn't for ads that make it damn near impossible to browse the net while listening to music or watching something.

Never mind many ads can force up pop-up that have (at least in my experience) forced own viruses/trojans even WITHOUT clicking them.

Then there's the NSFW ads that randomly come and go from 'PG' websites.

I never click on ads, so I suppose this invalidates your argument. Ads are no good if there is no response from the target. On the same note, I don't have cable/satellite and don't watch any television shows online, so I am pretty isolated from advertisements. The three magazines (wow does that make me old?) that I read don't have ads and I ignore them in the newspaper unless I am looking for something specific. Does this make me a pirate or just more attuned to my consumption? Still looking for your point.

The people who use ad blocker probably wouldn't click the ads either way...

Also, you would not otherwise be giving the site money by using adbloker, you would be if it were piracy.

"This is Communism"? Not that I am an expert, but... no.

By my understanding you don't exactly get things for nothing. Under it's most extreme form you don't pay, but then you aren't paid for your job. The payment is that things like music wouldn't cost you. Either way, my point wasn't so much to exactly define Communism rather to express that your point seems somewhat fallacious in that regard.

An interesting thread though. I don't agree with everything but I hadn't thought about it in that way to be honest. Thanks.

...So you'd rather us just ignore the ads manually? I don't understand; it's not like I was going to click them anyway.

If someone's adamant enough about an ad-free surfing environment to specifically download an add-on for it, then they probably weren't going to click the ads they are now blocking in the first place. So really, these programs/add-ons are focusing your target demographic.

Do you like being bombarded by adds everywhere you go?
I couldn't care less about some of these companies and whatever they're trying to sell. I most likely don't want it and if i do i don't have the money to buy anyways, so to bad for them.

Not at all, the ads steal from the user as well. They suck up a ton of bandwidth that we pay for, and don't get anything out of it. If the ads were text based, or had light graphics and were unobtrusive there wouldn't be a need for ad blockers.
