The rage isn't mindless nor is it self-entitlement. The ending was fucking shit and is an insult to people who invested so much time into a beloved franchise with memorable characters. Worst of all, it invalidated their choices with three types of deus ex. And for what? Nothing. It did nothing, said nothing and left more questions than answers.

We are getting side tracked here, I don't care about the Mass Effect ending. We were discussing MovieBob. So what you are saying is that he should be sacked because he had an opinion? Because the examples you have given are simply that. Regardless of his sometimes childish displays I don't think he is invalid.

Get rid of him because he's exactly what he believes certain factions of the gamer community are: unhelpful, uninsightful, "setting the industry back" and an entitled moron that thinks his bandwagon hating of popular games (CoD/Halo) and verbal fellatio of Nintendo products (Other M). Oh, and he said the 80's were great. Ha ha, no.

Fuck, Extra Credits was better than him. At least they pretended to be useful.

It is Entitlement. Or at least it is the way you had put it. You are saying the ending was "fucking shit" (where the fuck did that one come from, Bob?) and after spending "so much time into a beloved franchise" you are in the right to whine? That is, at least what I consider, Entitlement. You feel entitled to have a better ending than what you got just because you spent so many hours into the game. Also, please don't pull the "They lied to me!" card as, in the real world, you will be lied to and you have to get over it. If your boss says "I will give you a raise!" one morning and changes his mind, would you whine and ***** over it? I would hope not as you would get your arse fired.

The definition is tenuous, but consider the alternative. Imagine nobody bitched about the ending and people disregarded the obvious lack of quality. Imagine people didn't give a fuck about how the game ends on such a dichotomous note in regards to the rest of the series. Mass Effect is largely unique in being able to captivate people with its universe so a feeling of being backstabbed is a natural expectation. People wanted the ending to be great and then they got what they did.

And I hate Mass Effect. I think the plot of 2 and 3 are fucking stupid. The gunplay has gone from shit to meh. Shepard is flatly voiced by unenthused drones. The game is not an RPG; it's a TPS where you press buttons outside of combat and listen to people that aren't interesting 66% of the time. Your choices (imo) don't mean a goddamn thing save for when someone dies. The paragade system is retarded and juvenile. There are plot holes up the ass. The third game's first mission is the introduction of a deus ex machina. The god-child was retarded as all hell. And then it ended.

And I still feel bad for the biodr... ME fans that were disappointed by it. It's tragic when people feel so betrayed by what they are enamored with. I don't give a shit if it's the real world to get lied to. You don't become that just to satisfy someone else's pathetic attempts at artistry (Casey Hudson, you suck). Artistic integrity? Ha ha, not when someone pays 60 USD and you've hyped shit you didn't actually promise.


And no, if your boss said you would get a raise and then you asked about it, you probably wouldn't get fired. Hell, some lawyers would probably say you have a lawsuit on your hands. Ridiculous? Yes, but a possibility.

I've always been quite interested to see the point that G4 simply just turns into a porn/hipster station. After so many bad decisions and great shows cancelled I'm shocked they still even have an audience.

I have watched Adam Sessler since I was a child and it is just sad to see how much the station destroyed him. It gave up the fun and the parody and reverted to cheap gimmicks for ratings. I do hope Adam can find somewhere to appreciate his talents.

Wow, I've been watching him through some variation of this channel since I was like 10! I support his decision, especially since the channel has been going downhill for the last few years, I haven't watched it consistently in like 5 years but whenever I did, I wasn't impressed. G4 should have renegotiated his contract and just gave him whatever he wanted because he essentially makes the channel. Sessler was the whole reason my friends and I watched X-Play back in the day. I don't see him having any trouble finding work and even though it's pretty impossible, I'd be so stoked if he ended up on the Escapist in some capacity.

I've played both those games in the past year, my PS2 is still plugged in mostly because I'm still working through Gust's back library, but they're not really pinnacles of the genre. They're low budget affairs that do not compare well with AAA titles of any stripe, and I think they're exactly right to call them niche products.

Besides, if you fired all the reviewers who don't like JRPGs, there wouldn't be any left.

Then how about not letting them review it? How bout instead, people hire someone who do like the genre instead?

THEY DO. Not many people seem to realize this, but G4 has a lot of reviewers who write the reviews. It's only when they are aired on TV that Adam, Blair or Morgan narrate OTHER PEOPLE's thoughts.

I'm afraid I never watched code monkeys. Between techtv and G4 my favorite shows were robot wars (or whatever it was called), Anime Unleashed, Icons, Portal, and Starcade (sometimes).

Ever since portal got canned like it did, then most of tech TV bled out during the merger, I pretty much stopped watching. didn't help when I flipped over in the last couple of years only to see ninja warrior (not bad, mind) in between cops and cheaters. so much for a gaming channel, in my opinion.

Early G4 was amazing to me. Mmo game worlds turned into an albeit probably bad-now-but-i-loved-it-then machinima drama, stuff from all over the gamer sphere from history facts to retro set ups... it was something really neat. and while I cared little for it, they had modern as well as retro stuff.

eh, who can i kid- I'm just mad nobody released DVDs for portal.

If your review is just "It's a JRPG therefore it sucks" can it really be considered a review?

That might have explained why Mana Khemia got such a glowing review. That was the biggest suprise I ever saw from them.
