ladies and gentlemen I am in a bad state as of the past 2 months, so desperate in fact I have decided to look to you, escapists for guidance. 2010 is upon us, it is a new year, but most of the big releases aren't coming out for the PC and I don't own a Playstation 3, Xbox 360, or a Wii. That's right, I'm a PC gamer through and through. I have played many many games but now I am left with Saboteur, a game so foul in bugs that anyone with an extra core or two must maim their pc's processing ability to play it, and even then you crash all the time. The last game I completed was Psychonauts, and Assassins creed 2 is not out for the pc yet.

please escapists, save me from boredom in these late nights, what game can I get for the PC that isn't terrible, old(because I've already played most of them), one I haven't previously played, one that will keep me occupied?

Demigod (Not an amazing game really, but good for quick bouts when you're bored), Sins of a Solar Empire, Supreme Commander.

And of course, Mass Effect 2 comes out on the 26th.

That is, if you do not want to be maimed for not having played it, but of course you have.

Admittedly I haven't played many PC games last year, but out of the ones I played I've massively enjoyed 'Warhammer 40.000: Dawn of War II' (as you can probably tell from my avatar ). It's a matter of opinion, as always, but I think it's a competent RTT with good gameplay, graphics and soundtrack, and a basic but well-told story.

Mass Effect 2 and the Dawn of War series? And Company of Heroes.

I concur with the Dow. Put together with the 3 exapnsions and the original there's nearly hundred hours worth or more depending on how much you want to replay as each race. Dow 2 was pretty decent too.
