So look at your game of choice and add a feature! Steal it from another game if you want or be inspired from real life like me.
unfortunately for you, I think the most recent madden game that came out for pc was like..'08 maybe? but anyways, that would be a pretty damn easy mod to add in as long as a decent modder took a look at it, plus just having it setup as a random number generator would keep it fresh each time you played.

You know that guy who popped up in the lower corner of the screen when you did an uppercut in Mortal Kombat? Add him pretty much any game.
if anyone is a modder...for the love of god. start doing this now. I will download this for any game I have.

it's been years, but halo 2 and gears of war were games that my friends and I specifically loved for this reason, we would chapter select to go back and play our favorite parts over and over. (I would do it in single player, but the co op in those games was blended together very well)

Add Serbia as an official playable Civilization, with a story, voiced and animated leader and everything
I don't know for sure, but there are a TON of in depth civilizations added on the steam workshop, so maybe check those out? they might have serbia.

The other AI's didn't like me very much after that, but I think he deserved it. That's another option I'd add, make the AI understand why I did it, and make them realise that they're not in danger of being invaded by me.
this did bug the shit out of me in civ V (been a few months since I've played), I was always the most unlucky son of a ***** where the AI would spawn super close to me, and it was always an annoying fucker like the huns, so they'd attack me over and over and eventually with my turtle tactics I'd overtake them (like you did) and everyone would be pissed at me, even though I was just shutting up that asshole for good because he wouldn't stop bugging me.

just realized I quoted alot of people..jeesh.

OT: dragon age inquisition...mods. for the love of god, mods. it's a cop out, since mods could fix essentially everything, but if that game was just given a decent set of mod tools, nearly all of my petty complaints would go away within a week or two, and I'd probably play the game 2-3 more times.

I wish all games took notes from stealthing from Assassin's Creed. Shadow of Mordor sure did.
If I could hold shift and stealth-murder my way through games, my gaming world would be a better place.

That said, I would ultimately like to see a reboot of Morrowind, even if it's just an HD remake like Fable Anniversary. Mods only do so much (and cause instabilities), so I'd simply like to see a re-release of sorts.

Are annual releases a feature? Because I want annual releases for Zone of the Enders.
It wouldn't even matter whether there improving the franchise or not. Just give me Zone of the Enders 3!!

A friend of mine has this running gag that he often ends up next to caesar, which comes attacking really early because of his ballistas (unique early game unit, replaces catapult iirc).

I've learned in this game that being attacked early game is actually not that big a deal, it's quite easy to defend yourself, at least for the most part. Attila's battering ram is INSANELY powerful, and can take quite a punch. Aside from that one, though, it's easy to defend yourself because the AI is useless at attacking and strategic placement and movement of units.

Other players, a different story. A friend of mine decided he wanted to test the merits of Montezuma's unique unit, the Jaguar. Took one of my (poorly defended) cities with relative ease.

EDIT: I think I would add a unique unit for each civ for each era of the game, because at least in standard speed, the gap where at least the early game unique units are useful is tiny at best. I suppose not all of them have the necessary lore to support such a thing.

I'd add the voice of Bill from Left 4 Dead, juuuuust about loud enough in the background for people to make out a muffled voice that could be coming from a room on the floor above, or behind a nearby wall, occasionally shouting helpful things like, "Don't be an ass" and "SHUTTUP, YOU GODDAMN BIRDS! HORSE-SHIT GODDAMN BIRDS!"

...And if people don't like that then fuck 'em; I've had my fun and that's all that matters.
That would be hilarious.

OT: I would add jetpacks to any game that didn't already have them. Everything is better with jetpacks.

I'd like to take Dragon Age Inquisition and add the tactical combat system from Origins.

In X-Com: Enemy Unknown (and its expansion) I would love to be able to train Soldiers to have them advance in ranks, instead of making it so fighting enemies is the ONLY way they can get better and level up. They could make it so that training costs money and makes it so you can't use those troops for a while, but they can get trained, maybe even only to a certain extent. It would make much more sense, and make it way easier to take rookies into combat without having them get waxed immediately in the later parts of the game.
Great idea. Solves that late game problem and it also makes sense contextually because if a soldier isn't on a mission what else would they be doing if not training?

You know, I'm in the middle of Divinity 2 and I realize that "push a button to turn yourself into a fucking dragon" feature should be in every game ever made.

There are tons of mods, and I played all of them, which is why I said animated leader screens and everything, you know, so it's not modded in, but rather, stock. I'm kind of yet to hear my beautiful language in a game I already like to death, and no, I don't count GTA because, come on, that was just silly
ah gotcha, yeah they need to switch it up a bit more in the next civilization game hopefully when it comes to civ's/leaders. what would serbia's most memorable leader be? just curious.

Shadow of the Colossus
I made a new save for every colossus just so I could quickly re-experience the battles.
You can already replay fights. All you have to do is ride up to where you killed the colossus (can be a bit of a trip) and hold O next to its remains (they turn into piles of rocks and debris after you slay them).

Alternatively, beat the game and load the post-credits save to unlock Time [trial] Attack Mode. You walk up to the statues of the Colossi (the ones that are lined up in the main shrine) and press O to fight them again with a time limit. You even unlock rewards by doing so.

Sigh...

I would just add... more, to S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat.

Like, more locales, whether real or not, to the Zone. Or even somehow out past the Zone, elsewhere in the Ukraine, or I dunno. Just... more.

I used to describe the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games as 'spiral' instead of 'sandbox', simply because the games eventually pull you into a more linear progression, one that you are eventually trapped in and MUST proceed along- not a bad thing, necessarily, but possibly frustrating for those who just want to explore after the first few playthroughs. Call of Pripyat is the loosest of the three in this sense, but still, I would have loved some more levels/areas to get lost in...

Oh, and some genuinely enormous and hideous mutants. The game has 'creepy' things, and definitely dangerous things, but could do with some really terrifying horrors, especially for when you have the better guns and armor. The PseudoGiant, Chimera and Bloodsucker are great monsters, and can definitely scare you, I'd just liked to have seen something that had almost no basis in our reality, like a tentacled horror or a blob or something similar, a thing that maybe couldn't be killed, only slowed or something.

In Persona 4, give us the option to completely skip scenes where we don't do anything but scroll through text. It gets old after replaying the game enough times.

In Witcher 2, give me more stuff to do with Dandilion and Zoltan. They don't feel much like a part of the adventure when they spend 90% of the game hanging out at the local tavern. Involve them in a few more sidequests and give them new things to say when new events transpire.

In Persona 3, give it Persona 4's battle system.

In Persona 4 Arena, provide a DLC sidestory where a character or two from Blazblue or Guilty Gear makes an appearance. Hilarity must ensue.

In Guilty Gear Xrd, provide joke endings for the characters.

In This War of Mine, make Solid Snake a possible character. Heh heh heh.

In Psychonauts, include a new level where you enter the mind of a 4Chan user. Also include a new usable item called "Brain Bleach".

Crusader Kings 2: visual representation of battles, or better yet a total war style battle map.

I love paradox games in general but visual candy certainly wouldn't be amiss so you don't rely exclusively on your imagination to picture all that's going on.

"New Game +" in the Kingdom Hearts series... Just to see Sora/Roxas/Riku "rekt shit" throughout the whole game with the previous abilities/stats, at least, "unlocked" already...

Other than that, "New Game +" in Sonic 06... Just for the LOLs, basically...

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series: move the chakra load button to a shoulder button and change the triangle button (I play on PS3, not sure what the chakra button is on the 360 version) to a second combat button so you can pull off more combos

Being able to stay on the side of UNATCO and eventually MJ12 in Deus Ex instead of having to betray them.

I think this was originally planned for the game too, but they ran out of time or something.
