I got into it and that was all i played for the next week, now however i cant even bare to put it into my xbox. Back to the point has this happened to any of you, or am i just wierd.

This usually happens when I first get a game, particularly if it's one based more on single player than multi. I'll just play that one through until it's done, and not touch any of my other ones. Most recently, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, and Mass Effect were the games that grabbed my attention most.

Oblivion and Diablo 2 were like drugs for me. I remember I was sick at one point, but not even stomach cramps stopped me from playing. I have a thing for RPGs, I suppose...

Any of the "Tales" multiplayer RPGs are really good at that, however Tales of the Abyss had this annoying nitpicky problem about guiding you about like a retarded child with asthma problems to where you're "supposed" to go, then promptly chastising you for not obtaining 45% of the hidden content when you've given up on exploration for fear of another spanking.

I don't know why but it seems to me like good cooperative multiplayer games are a thing of a bygone era now. Yes, I know that WoW and whatnot are effectively coop, but I'm talking about a good console game that one can pick up off the shelf and invite a few friends over to help empty out the snack rack and liquor supplies.

Counter-Strike.. although I do happen to be fairly good at the game, otherwise I could imagine seriously loathing it... and sometimes I still do.

But, usually it's strategy games that get their hooks in me.

Completely agree, Tales of symphonia was my favorite. Didn't touch another game for ages.
RPG's generally hook me, if anything, because of their immense story.

And generally, i buy a game and play it through before i start another one. This makes Christmas a problem. =(

Rock Band is quite addictive. "One more song" can go on for hours. Which is made more tricky by the fact that I don't own it, and have to play at friends' places.

The most recent for me are Oblivion, TF2, and N+. There have been others (when I was younger Pokemon basically controlled my life) but I'd prefer not to name them all.

I tend to get addicted to simple games. Complex games I *like*, but simplicity is where the real crack is. My personal weakness was XKobo (which I called The Plumbing in Space Game). You can probably find a Windows version of that floating around somewhere.

Also, I really got into Rez for awhile, but nowhere near as bad.

Phantasy Star online for the Gamecube
between october 02 to october 06 I logged ~450 hours on my best character. I didn't get online until I'd say April 06 because we went from dial-up to high speed at the beginning of 06 :p

Audiosurf. $10 on Steam, and I went 12 hours with my bowels backed up into my chest to play just one more song on Ninja Mono.

And for the record, Senor Yahtzee, the BEST Audiosurf tracks are U2, hands down. And I don't even like Bono all that much. They're just so roller-coastery. Go fig.

Now back to Audiosurf. Going through withdraw over here.
