Lets see

CoD in order of having played them: WaW,MW2,Blops,MW3. I swear to god whenever someone else plays the intelligence of the enemy team drops about fifty IQ points and it becomes a game of "lets all run out into the open and give this guy free kills" but whenever I play its "lets all hide in corners, and get super lucky kills and know the map like the back of our hands"

L4D2: I always miss as the Charger, I very rarely hit anyone as the spitter, I only pin someone for like 3 seconds as the Hunter, I get shot before I can reach anyone as the Boomer. And as a survivor my team is eliminated in minutes.

TF2: I thought finally being able to aim with my left hand would make a difference and my southpaw status was what was making me so bad at console shooters, but no. Also, thanks for giving for Dominations such dramatic theme music, Valve, now they're huge wrecking balls to my self-esteem (Seriously hearing that DA-DA-DA-DAAAAA always puts me in a bad mood)

I suck at all multiplayer. (Well, I was *decent* at UT2k4 a long long time ago)

Now give me a co-op vs. AI or a single player and I'll do really well. Raid Boss, Dancing to Avoid fire? Check! Work with teammates to survive wave after wave of horde? Check!

Fighting games, anything like Guitar Hero, RTS games against other humans, puzzle games and games that involve a ton of math...

Any shooter game, be it first or third person. I just can't get used to the combination of a steady hand to get a good aim and the twitch required to react when someone fires at you. Plus, because I hardly ever play them, I just don't know the maps as well as the people I'm playing against in multiplayer. Doesn't help that I just suck at them in general and can't even get past the third stage of any in single player without co-op help from friends. Yeah, I'm that guy who holds the others back in co-op when it comes to multiplayer.

I also tend to suck at fighting games, but only in multiplayer. I do alright in single player, and I like to play fighting games, so I do some practice to get better (I believe I even have a winning record in SC4 between Xbox Live and local matches), but I didn't really grow up with fighting games such as SF2, so it's a long learning process.

RTS and Fighting games in general. I sucked at Starcraft 2 I have to admit, and UMVC3 occasionally but, sometimes I'm good... most of the time though I suck, but probably because of I didn't have an Xbox which I can practice with.

All First Person shooters and racers, but then again I suck at em cause I never play em
Ohh racers, thats good. I was trying to think of a genre that I truly suck at and racing games is probably top on the list. Not to say that everything besides racers is made immediatly into my ***** due to the pure awesomeness of my undeniable skill, but racers are the only ones I truly SUCK at.

I admit I suck at battlefield 3.

I can't fly the jetplanes for shit and I keep forgetting you are meant to specialize which means my character is far to spread out and progression for me is slow so I can't get any of the good stuff fast enough while everyone kills me almost instantly with their SCAR-H guns.

It is less gameplay as it is my decisions when it comes to getting things... I just keep forgetting to pick the right class or weapon for the situation and it seems the only vehicle I can use competently is the tank, which anyone can use.

PvE? none really i tend to be competent enough to make it through

PvP >.> ... depends on the game, fighters i do ok at. but shooters x.x I'm pretty much boned

but a more general answer would be FPS and RTS games, not real big on ether, thus never play, thus i suck

All strategy games ever.

Total Annihilation
Sins of a Solar Empire
Starcraft
Starcraft 2
Warcraft 3
Age of Empire 1-3
Supreme Commander

and several more I can't think of right now.

I tend to get a very strong sunk cost issue when my plans don't go well and have trouble pursuing new plans.

I'll have to take your answer of UMvC3, OP. I'm not a total beginner but I always seem to face people that happen to be better than me no matter how much I practice offline.

I'm gonna answer this in terms of multiplayer, since single player's pretty easy for me no matter the format.

RTS' like Starcraft and Warcraft
exception being RTS without old school resource management (i.e. focus on tactics)
If there's no rush I'm better but still not nearly as good as I am at other genres.
But I never can seem to get past that initial stage where you get bum-rushed by a constant stream of enemy units.

Fighting games
unless it's Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance (Kenshi FTW)
I'm just not very good at getting the most effective combos down

RTS's.

For some reason, I just cannot do good at them. At all. Every time I play on a difficulty above easy, or go online, I get fucking steamrolled.

And yet, for some insane reason, I keep playing. And I love the genre. I have no idea why.
This, this so damn hard. I'd be laughed out of South Korea. It's sad, because I'm actually all right at TBS and real-time anything else, but RTS just slays me dead. That doesn't make Starcraft or DEFCON any less amazing, though!
