I once made the assumption that COD 4 sucked, even going as far as to say that the game was an insult to people who were dying in war.

I now have it, and I stand corrected.
I am also now a regular watcher of Extra Credits.... now I stand corrected on my point about people dying in war

I made a bet once that one of Mike Myers' lines in The Love Guru was 'split the pickle' rather than 'break the pickle' (or maybe vice versa). I bet a tub o' Ben'n'Jerrys on that.

I was happy to pay up when this turned out to be not the case.

Also I once commented that Soul Calibur 4 wasn't really guilty of skimpy female costumes, then I got shown a pic of Ivy (who I'd forgotten because I never played with/against her), cheerily admitted my error on that one.

I think that it's one of the best things to do in an argument, admit that you are wrong. It's an essential part of Socratic reasoning. Unfortunately most people are too proud to do so. They might go as far as to admit the other person is right, but ask them to admit their own mistake and they usually don't take it well.

I'm wrong about most things. I'm an idiot, you see.
False statement is false.
Well that means I am wrong about believing I am wrong all the time. Therefore I am even more of an idiot.

PARADOX.

I nullify this paradox. :)

I was wrong in how I chose to live my life, and I've lost almost everything because of that.

I used to think most people were monumentally stupid, stubborn beings. I was wrong. Taken individually, most people are fairly intelligent and quite reasonable... it's only when a person strongly identifies themselves with a group, taking on that group's values unthinkingly that they become stupid. I realized this after it happened to me.
Please tell me that you fell in with a misanthropic crowd. That would be poetic.
Nope, I'm still a bit of a misanthrope myself. What I did was fall for a little good ol' fashioned military indoctrination.

I was wrong about MW2. I loved CoD4 to death and was super psyched for MW2. It ripped out my heart, tore it to pieces, and burned those pieces. :? (
I feel your pain.

I thought I wouldn't still be writing this fucking 5,000 word essay at 3:57am... Perhaps if I didn't keep looking at threads on 'the escapist' I wouldn't be wrong!

I once thought I was wrong, it turned out wrong was me!

This made sense in my head as a Chuck Norris type claim.

I'll admit. I had thought that Rebbecca Mayes Muses was the worst show to ever be on the Escapist. Jimquisition has changed that for me.
You probably never saw game dogs.
Second season wasn't bad. Then it ended abruptly and violently with no explanation whatsoever.
