The ads for some investment organization or something that are all rotoscoped, where they actually tape the people talking, then animate the same person talking directly over the live action filmy part. See the move "A Scanner Darkly", same thing. Only in the ads, it feels REALLY unneccessary, and probably costs a boat load more than if they were to just air the close up of some middle aged woman talking about her investments.
There's also a couple ads for an insurance company where it's just a guy talking while going through some mundane task. The first one, the camera follows him while he walks into a coffee shop. The coffee shop has nothing to do with what the guy is saying, he's just doing the usual pitch, but the camera follows him in a single shot, at one point panning off to follow a waitress while the guy continues talking. The visuals have nothing to do with the product or the monologue at all. In the other one, which I guess is supposed to be a kind of "sequel" to the other one, it's the same guy, standing outside the coffee shop, giving the same pitch. Towards the end, a waitress walks out, hands him his coffee, and walks back inside, during which time the guy continues talking as if nothing is happening. Am I supposed to be convinced that this insurance company is the one for me, simply because the dude digs a cuppa joe every now and then?
Well, that was longer than I'd planned...
