As I sit playing my outdated X-box I thought "What was that game where I can you powers and do cartwheels and such" then I rembered it was Advent Rising! Then I proceeded to play the whole game through because I was very bored. When I had finished the game (it leaves off in a cliffhanger)and I proceeded to wonder why there hasn't been a sequel yet.

I was wondering how other people felt about this sequel, or even about the game.

I really liked the game, it had its fair share of problems but I still liked it. Unfortunately a lot of gamers did not, nor did it sell all that well. The game recieved decent to bad reviews (for whatever reason), so I suppose it that's why it got dropped.

As far as hype-to-sales ratios, Advent Rising was the captain of the failboat.

I liked the game though, it was a lot of fun if nothing else. The PC version didn't have half the problems the console version did.

Advent Rising was meant to be the first in a series of games, but due to it's epic failure in terms of sales (And mediocre reviews) the other two were canceled.

I liked the game though, it was pretty fun aside from the dreadful targeting system.

I thought it was a great game with great storyline. But at first I avoided it because of Xplays review of it then finnaly pulled myself to buying it, I think it was worth it. I don't think the aiming system is as bad as they make it out to be. I mean it can get annoying at times but its not all that bad. I belive all the reviews were focused on all the negitive of they game that they forgot all about the good part.

This game has always intrigued me but I could never find it. I saw the PC version ONCE for really cheap, but didn't have the money on me at the time and really resent it. I really doubt it is bad, it looked like it had an interesting story and was loads of fun. I assume it is one of those under appreciated games that doesn't deserve half the slack it's given. Seems many gaming jewels always escape me when I have the inconvenience of not having money on me at the time...hence why I still don't have Valkyrie Profile :(

The good part starting about halfway through, when you get to throw enemies off the deck of a ship into space.

The sequel was going to be on the PSP but it got canned way before release. The game died after the first one, poor OSC. I blame the developers and story author, the game had some cool shit but was average at best. You can tell there wasn't a lot to work with for a Sci-fi author.

I love that level!!! Expecially when you have throw at max and they just go flying off...it was great.

That's exactly why I bought it originally. I enjoyed it thoroughly, despite its flaws, but don't think they'll ever go for a sequel.

I only have the Soundtrack CD, but one massive Soundtrack it is, by Tommy Tallarico (who seems to be the most active composer in Game history, and also a nice guy as I found out) and a top team (Grammies and whatnot), orchestra, choir, you name it :)
