While Adventure Time's quality has gone down I think we can all agree it led a generation and while I'm happy it ended on its own terms its kinda sad to see it go

All good things need an end I suppose.

Shame we never got a proper video game of it. I always felt the world lended itself to a Fallout clone.

I love Adventure Time and I'll be sorry to see it go... but 9 seasons is pretty long in this era of 'weird tv' ... frankly, while I enjoy other weird tv like Rick and Morty ... I think Adventure Time has only gotten better with age... but it has reached a point of familiarity. It was fun watching Finn effectively grow up, but similarly the appeal of that is knowing how his worldview has changed. And how the show hss accommodated that effective 'slowing down' from energetic child with naive notions of good and evil mellow into a more adult idea of virtue and character.

Adventure Time, unlike most shows, has a fairly fluid transition of time... so by the time season 9 rolls past he'll likely be 18/19 if the age progression is kept constant. The show by its own construct is a coming of age tale which isn't directly addressed over arches but is assumed as by the linearity of the existence of the show itself.

If Finn by season 9 acted like the Finn of season 1, that would be irksome... Ending the show as Finn being 18/19 seems pretty logical to me. I can see why people don't like later episodes in comparison... but I think that's because of the show making a conscious effort to either age in parity with their audience... or show adult viewers something to be nostalgic about. A show with a child riddled with youthful vigour but is ultimately merely naive and is slowly coming into their own.

I think the crew haven't dropped the quality of the show... it's just that the show has evolved as this protracted drama unfolds. Your appreciation of the show might increase when you view it as a single entity that unfolds over a definite time period. Think of it as merely just one big adventure rather than a collection of arches ... same way you might recount your own formative years from 12 to currently 17.

Adventure Time is ending? Oh no...how tragic...maybe...possibly...well, I might be able to muster something up.

Well, its sad, but Im also glad we will hopefully finally get all story threads concluded. I hope they sort everything else and give us their best on the last two seasons.

And though I like the feeling episodes with the character development, I also want more adventures.

BTW if you need more adventure time fix, look up Bravest warriors. Its by some of the same people and its also completely free and legal to watch online making its money off youtube ads.

If I'm honest, I saw a few episodes and I'm surprised it made it past one season, let alone nine. Yet WB couldn't squeeze out three for Young Justice or Green Lanter TAS.

Well, I hope the send off at least wraps up the story for the fans, it has to have more than a few to get as far as it did.

Finn aging is one of the main things I like about the show. I like stories that ya know, progress. Time locking people might be fine for an animated sit. comedy like Simpsons, but Adventure Time's actual story and time passing along with its cartoonish humor is great.

I dont like endings, cause endings arent the end. I honestly was hoping it would go on for many more years until Finn actually became an adult like we have seen him in multiple episodes of potential futures. No matter what the endings is (short of all life dying) isnt going to make me not wonder what happens after.

They'd better make Marceline and Bubblegum's relationship canon before they bow out.

I mean I get it's already *technically* canon since the creator stated that they had indeed dated in the past but actually having it stated on screen would be nice.

Good.
I still like the show, but they should leave the stage on their own terms instead of being dragged out because of exhaustion.

I never did get around to watching it. Probably should do it. Why didn't I again?

....Oh right, because there's so much of it and it seemed a very daunting and time consuming venture.

...Someday.

Wow, it's been around for 9 years? Well, I guess nothing good can last forever (now if only certain bad things would just end *COUGH*TeenTitansGo*COUGH*). Let's just hope they can wrap up everything...

So they cancel Adventure Time and Gumball, but keep tripe like Teen Titans Go and Uncle Grandpa?

It's reassuring to see that Cartoon Network never changes.

A naked blue man with god like power once said, "nothing last forever".

I'm ok with the show closure as it newer seasons, they are starting to run out of steam (I mean ok, Finn had mostly learned about his father, had gain and lost love and eventually got over it, learn the origin of the nuke well sorta and the birth of Ooo).

With the last season coming in 2018, that should give them enough time to bring closure like if Finn can ever love again or if Simon can be himself again or Betty can freed him once and for all?

Hey at least they are announcing the final in due time unlike leaving it in post production or too late like Wander Over Younder and Young Justice etc.
