You don't get it because you have got taste.

Adventure Time is puerile sh*te. It is'nt fit for children to watch. Or anyone, of any age. It's retardly cretinous crap with no plot or logic. It's shallower than a kiddie pool.
There's no depth to it. It's nothing but pointless sh*te, stupid stuff, and disturbing things, thrown in for no reason.
It's all the worst things you should'nt do when writing something, put together and amplified by 30.

It is like the result of taking every drug in existance, drinking every alchohol in existance, then sticking your head in a vat of FEV!

And no, it's not a childrens cartoon. It's not remotely for children. It's not fit for children. If you showed a child that, it would f*ck them up and give them nightmares! There's loads of inuenndo in it, that is blatant. And it's stupid and sick. It's disturbing and wrong.

Welcome to the group with taste, who don't like that crap.
I certainly wouldn't say it has no depth, it sounds to me a lot like you're basing it off the earlier episodes before they introduce the ongoing character development and story arcs.

It's fine to not like it, but there's no reason to insult those of us who DO like it.

If you only watched the first few episodes, I can see how you would think that.
If you watched beyond that, then you'd know you were completely and utterly wrong.

I didn't get it at first, either. I saw an episode every now and then and thought it was a bit pointless. However, I eventually caught the Lich King episode. Finn and Jake ended up in a subway station, fighting skeletons and that was when I realised this was set in a dystopian future. I watched a few more and really paid attention, noticing how the world is built, the lore, the characters, etc; it's actually a very well put together show beneath that randomness. When I started appreciating that, the shit I didn't think was all that funny grew on me. I went from watching an episode every so often to keeping up to date with it. Not so much now, since I haven't had time to watch a lot of it... But still!

Not everyone HAS to like it. If you've seen a fair few episodes and you still don't "get it" then it's not for you, and there's nothing to get. Just don't watch the show.

It's random, yeah, but not out of the blue random. Situations that are redone to be childish and funny instead tragic. It tires to stay within the boundaries of the episode, I don't think it's much more random than the first few minutes of the episode build up to be. I'd say most of the randomness comes from the series' language

I think most of its charm is in the characters. They are more complex than the typical archetypes than they were originally built up to be. It takes a few episodes to learn what each character is like and who your favorite is. A lot of why I like Adventure Time is watching the characters interact more than the zany situations they get themselves in, that's why a lot of fans of the show are more invested in the character arcs than the plot of each episode.

Another thing going for it is the weird moments that you generally don't see in cartoons, let alone one on Cartoon Network. All of the episodes featuring the Earl of Lemongrab and the Lemon Earldom are perfect examples of what I mean.

It's so creative a show. It has a lot of things going on at once, like Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy. It seems random and Lots of people don't get that show either but almost all of what looks random is based on the personalities of the characters and their interactions.

I really don't care to know anyone that hates Adventure Time... it's just... so wrong to hate that show. Adventure Time is nothing but fresh. If you don't get it, you really can't be bothered to get it, and I don't get that.

The Kat and Fiona fan-fiction episodes really rub me the wrong way though. It's like I'm watching an entirely different show that's a mix between MLP and some teenage girl's diary entries. Damn that ice king!

The Lemon episodes aren't just general weird, they're....unsettling.
Kinda...REAL messed up.
Lemongrab may be a better psychopath than..say...the Joker.

I "get" adventure time...I mean I understand why people like it...it's funny and random yet seems to have extra depth to it I can't really explain

That said its not really my thing...I prefer regular show for some reason which I think devolves into crazy more often

Shows like those I don't really feel like I'd go out of my way to watch...although bobs burgers I like since its like use Simpsons but good
