Eh, I was hoping more for people sharing somewhat humorous stories and what not, not so much the flaming. Ah well. Thread fail I suppose.
As far as letting my son watch Aliens, seriously, he's been playing with all the old Aliens and Predator toys that I kept from when I was young since he was old enough to play with them. No small parts with them, no choking hazard, he only played with them with me in front of him. He actually likes monster flicks. He's a normal little boy, loves pretending to be a monster and all that. He's actually got a nice little zombie impression that he breaks out whenever he sees a zombie on tv, it's cute when he does it. That being said, I let him watch these movies because I want to share them with him, my dad did this with me, and I like to share that same experience with him. Now then, the title of the thread was 'Adventures in Bad Parenting' and I was mostly hoping for stories about how people may have accidently finding themselves leaving their kids warped in some way, mine was not thinking more about Toxic Avenger, and assuming that he'd be fine with it since he enjoyed the other movies so much. Again, never said it was good parenting there in the original post, thus the title.
Now, if anybody else feels the need to throw insults about, then please, by all means, direct them at me and not at eachother, and let's hear some good stories. Or, just kill the thread. Either way. Just would much rather not have my first created topic on Escapist be a flame-war.
