Today is new years day! In Japan, most people go to pray at a shrine, and for me there's just one shrine I want to go to! Washinomiya shrine, the shrine featured in the anime Lucky Star!
So I did go there, and I got some pictures for you guys!

A shop on way to the shrine. Methinks they like Lucky Star.

The main gate, both in real life and as it appears in the anime.
The path to the shrine itself.

Where people tie their wishes, lots of free space unlike that episode of Lucky Star!

The main shrine, but with the stalls blocking the view. Had I thought to get this photo with the miko in view, this would have been an acceptable substitute. Damn.

The menu at the food stall. Lucy Star themed naturally.

I ordered ramen for lunch, it turns out that Japan is even using the paper chopsticks holder to advertise stuff.

People's "enmas" with their wishes written on them. While some wished for "world peace" ("世界平和") many simply doodled anime characters on them instead.

Some things I bought at the festival, an ema with some monkeys on it and some Lucky Star chili sauce. I had to ask which of the sauces was the spiciest, but in hindsight it should have been obvious: the bottle with Kagami on it is the fieriest!
