I own a ATi 4890 and I'm looking to upgrade before BF3 comes. Anyone have an idea for a good upgrade? Preferabbly around $300 would be good. Thanms.

The Gtx 470, Ati 6950, 560 ti should all run it just fine.

From what I've heard, anything above the Ati 6870 should run the game nicely.

If you can, add in an extra 20-50 and buy a GTX570 which is on par with the 480 and barely any difference from the 580+590's power. If not, go with a GTX 560/560Ti (Steer clear of 480 unless heat isnt an issue). I don't know much on the ATi field as I tend to steer clear of that as I LOATHE Caty' Control Center with an immense passion.

Thanks for the replies, I found a 6950 for $200 so I think I'll go with that.

The 570 is well below the 580's power, I should know, I have a 580.

A 590 is essentially two 580's on the same board, but declocked.

Go for a 570, but don't kid yourself that it'll be "almost the same" as a 580 or 590.

Well, yeah of course it not "almost the same", but its not like its a 10 generation jump either.

A Palit GTX 580 is barely different to an Inno GTX 580.

It is however quite noticeably different to a Palit GTX 570.

When the differences involved with hardware are measurable. saying something is "barely different" when it isn't can cause a) confusion b) damage to parts c) confusion d) feelings of irritation to learn that the guy giving out advice on the forum had no idea what he was talking about.
