After Effects Masking Help

My basic problem is that I need to transition my friend's face green for a video. I know how to mask, and I know how to keyframe, and I know how to get motion-tracker points.
Unfortunately, I can't get the mask to move with the motion track points. When I play the scene, his head moves and the mask doesn't.
So how can I get the mask to follow the tracker points?

It's been a while since I've motion-tracked anything in After Effects, but I seem to remember something about having to parent the tracking points to the footage layer. It sounds to me like you may have the tracking points parented to the mask itself.
