Agreed, sequels to a planned out trilogy in a franchise are usually a bad idea.Hiphophippo said:I don't agree with their decision personally. Sometimes it's best to just let things peacefully die.

Because no game has the command "press X to not care"!
How do we know they didnt at the time they planned the ME trilogy plan out other story arcs?SextusMaximus said:Agreed, sequels to a planned out trilogy in a franchise are usually a bad idea.Hiphophippo said:I don't agree with their decision personally. I'm sure I read somewhere that a BioWare member suggested that they would only have the Trilogy and then they would move on... Maybe I'm thinking of something else?Petromir said:How do we know they didnt at the time they planned the ME trilogy plan out other story arcs?SextusMaximus said:Agreed, sequels to a planned out trilogy in a franchise are usually a bad idea.Hiphophippo said:I don't agree with their decision personally. Theres a deep universe here that could be explored.
While a Mass Effect MMO would probably be great, it's not going to happen. Bioware are already going to have a sci-fi MMORPG in the form of The Old Republic, so essentially they'd just be competing with themselves.Chicago Ted said:A Mass Effect MMO. The amount of potential in it would be enormous. Have clans of mercenary companies, make it more on independent rewards as opposed to faction based. Oh, and make space combat viable and engaging.
It'd seem like the most enjoyable step.
But that would just involve getting shot and killed/running away.thebobmaster said:One thing that would be interesting, at least to me, would be a prequel story, featuring the rise of the Geth, with you playing as a quarian.
Of all the possibilities I think this would be best but it's the least likely. Remember EA owns Bioware now, they're only going to stop makeing Mass Effect games until Bioware has been ground into the dust and they make one, last awful game that will leave a sour taste in Bioware's fans for years to come. The DSM said:For it to end.
Really? What makes you say that? It has countless of races, conflicts and is rich with history and lore. What exactly is not big about that?Hiphophippo said:An opinion I don't share either.spectrenihlus said:The universe it too big for that.Hiphophippo said:I don't agree with their decision personally. It's not the fact that it's big. That's nothing. What happens on Mario's moon? We can go down this road forever. My issue is that it's a planned trilogy and I think any game beyond the story arc pollutes the original experience.Cowabungaa said:Really? What makes you say that? Then I'm not sure you understood the new game they're planning; it's not about Shepard, it's an entirely new game just set in the same universe. Mass Effect 3 will end Shepard's storyline, and probably the Reaper thing too. A new game would not be a part of the original trilogy.Hiphophippo said:It's not the fact that it's big. That's nothing.
