After conquering the seas & the skies, where else would Bioshock go?

Space would be definitely be out of question for Irrational; for if you set Bioshock up, it'll mean that the devs have jump the shark.

What other possible places on Earth would Bioshock explore next?

Some theories:

It'll be set on a vertical world like in the book On by Adam Roberts

The core of the Earth as inspired by Jules Verne

A giant towerlike structure that looks like Spearpoint from Terminal World, and acts as a space elevator.

A giant tree can reach to the sky, that can support a massive civilization on it's branches

Any other ideas?

Bioshock IN THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION! WOOOOOOOOO.

They have done the sea and skies, how about just settling with land...

Underground would be my guess, if we're keeping with the whole "hidden city" thing.

Funny thing about underground, there has been a lot of post-apocalyptic B-movies where cities were build underground in the 90's.

How about this:
A city set inside a giant creature, like a whale or something. That really should explore the Bio-side of the game.

Basically this in a nutshell. Space, never gets old! Although it would be interesting to see what kind of Big Daddy like enemy they'd put in. Perhaps a bloke in a space suit.

I definitely like your idea of a giant tower like structure.

Maybe they'll go with the original idea and have it on a tropical island full of religious fanatics?

Oo, oo, how 'bout a volcano? That'd be the best.

How about the snow? Easily as isolating and evocative as the sky/sea. Keeps the alliteration going too.

They'll go into the sewers.

It used to be Nazis ruling the island.

That'll be interesting, a city within a volcano

In regards to Spearpoint, here's a wiki entry from Terminal World:
Spearpoint and its surroundings are divided into zones: regions of space-time which exist at different energy states. Different zones support different levels of technology, and humans require periodic drug treatments to survive outside their native zone. Within Spearpoint itself, individual zones designate different precincts within the city; further away, they become much larger, with some on the opposite side of the world encompassing entire geographic regions.

My first thought was space, that would be pretty awesome.

also in a mountain/underground could also be pretty cool, claustrophobic areas with huge gears spinning and cave-ins and shit would be cool.

Plus the can pull the typical "walk across the room" quests where something falls and block the door without having to find something huge and out of place to fit over the door first, A normal rock would do just fine

Insert one-liner here.

If we assume theyre going to change the scenery again, then they would probably go into space or underground.

A tower, while nice, doesnt keep with the hidden cities theme.

i think a better question might be, what philosopy will be looked at next? thats what made bioshock differant, and the city reflected it, everythingwas a twisted reflection of objectavisem, from the expotation of little girls for power to prying on the slightest weakness that its residents exibit. i'd like to see something from the left side of spectrum in the next game, that might be fun.

city wise, dense jungle city, cloud be cool, faceing danger from the wired wildlife and not just the craced city dwellers, just think tiger that shoot lightning at you.

Well, the Bioshock series is all about the philosophy tied to marvelous cities. They don't need to hide such cities to make it Bioshock. If Uncharted has taught me one thing, it's that anything can be hidden since Google Earth doesn't exist in games outside CoD-style shooters.

Honestly, I think it would be interesting to do a semi-reversal. Instead of the city being hidden, it's now in plain sight and everyone knows about it. The philosophy would be taken to the extreme, as expected, but perhaps the extremism doesn't solely come from the city and its people, but from the world around it as well. That way we could get all kinds of views.
