I wish they actually remade the models, but I guess it'd be $40 instead of $20. Was there anything about a mod browser detailed? Because I would love to play on user created maps super easy rather tham searching on forums.

AoE2's mini-sprites in HD?
Yikes that doesn't sound appealing to me at all. I've seen what happens when you try to "HD" games like that.
(Baldur's Gate)
It just looks awkward.

It will have steam workshop, so you can easily add mods that way.

Not like what you think. There has been this resolution patch for years, which allows you to just see more stuff on the screen, this is exactly the same thing.

Anybody know if it will have mac (Intel) support? I'm running Lion, unfortunately, making it very difficult to re-live my childhood.

I love me some AoE 2 but I won't be getting this. I learned recently that such old games survive the test of time better in the annals of nostalgia than in a replay 10+ years later.

I run windows 7 under bootcamp. I can run windows games now, natively. Give it a go.

I've played it a bit at friend's LANs recently, I found it holds up pretty well.

As someone who loved these kinds of games back in the day but never played this particular one, is it worth my getting? Or is it more of a nostalgia trip for those who did.

I'll be getting it purely under the hope that if enough people do they will make an AOE 4.

As other people have stated, AoC was my childhood basically. It was the only PC game I had at the time and I spent many hours playing multiplayer with my friends in primary school. This is an instant pick-up for me due to multiplayer alone. I don't really care about anything else, the increased resolution is nice on the eyes though.
